  1. Yes, what he said was that "the right wing did that" not "the Republicans did that". I don't necessarily agree, but I think that we can agree that positions held on specific issues considered "right" or "left" are subject to change, mostly due to party dynamics. Honestly, conservatives fight for the gains of liberals past. The idea that Republicans are the party of black America, for example, because they abolished slavery, is a ridiculously outdated notion. Plus we have power dynamics. 30 years ago, no progressive would have tolerated censorship; now they lead the charge.

  2. Tucker Carlson's "Does he eat dogs?" comment was definitely slander against Asians. I often watch and sometimes agree with him. I'm glad his program exists. But the frequent dog whistles cannot be denied, and this was one of them.
