Basically that China has no claims over the artificial islands that are meanwhile armed to the teeth and used to extort the countries that have real claims in the region?   28. ​ Simon Whittaker  You mare making a couple of fundamental mistakes there. The economic growth does not automatically include any kind of wars over disputed areas. Economic growth is more related and dependent on stability and war means instability. The problem with the CCP is that it is a fascist regime. It has no legitimacy. It wants to create legitimacy by fueling patriotism and invading other countries is part of that. You don't have that in India. Or why didn't South Korea invade North Korea? Why didn't Japan invade Russia? Or any other country that experienced economic growth and yet still has issues with other countries? So you are comparing apples and oranges.

  29.  Simon Whittaker  1) Really? It does want both countries to unite again. 2) Russia has an authoritarian regime and the economy went downhill for a couple of years so not really that stable. And Russia is going to invade a lot more in order to survive. 3) But it should have tried according to your assumptions. At least a bit. Right? But there is nothing internationally, politically, militarelly, economically, the way China does day in day out. Again. Economic growth and its relationship to the rest of the world is very much dependent of the government of that country. Is it a fascist one, then you will have issues sooner or later. Is it a democracy? That begs stability.
