@deseangibir4764 Is there some country you’d prefer?
16
@chavelahutchinson2657 Because this is America. We all came from somewhere else if you trace our histories back. But we are all Americans now, aren’t we? That you are “owed” something or not is an opinion and the vast majority of the country doesn’t share your opinion that you are owed anything different than everyone else. If he doesn’t want to be an American, he should find a better place to live, as if he could.
9
@adrien1623 Can you think of one? Things are pretty bleak out there right now.
6
@adrien1623 Oooo, I think that’s a pipe dream.
5
@adrien1623 No. We don’t get to create reality. Reality is what is.
3
@seanin1990 You mean many were sold by victorious tribes.
3
@youngw1ze The slave trade lasted only about 50-60 years in this country. Those slaves were located primarily in the south as agricultural workers. At the same time the industrial revolution is going full speed in the north. Are you under the impression we became a super power off of agriculture?? It was the industrialized north that drove American growth, not farming. Also, you seem to be under the impression slave labor was free. Far from it. Plantation owners would make a significant investment if many thousands of dollars during the slave trade. Thereafter, they would provide room and board, medical needs, and sometimes wages for their slaves, which was in many cases, more than their northern, european, factory worker counterparts in the north could count on from their factory wages. And if they didn’t like the pay? No problem because there’s a line of guys around the block hungry enough to do it for less. You can’t look at history in a vacuum!
3
@TheYarbros How has the government “sold you out”?? It supports so many.
3
@krism768 Not necessarily. You likely won’t like the end result. Human nature sucks!
2
@2kx62 How are YOU oppressed?
2
@seanin1990 At this rate , the world may not be here in 2028.
2
@deethomas0 Who looks to you? And for what?
2
@seanin1990 Things have changed a lot since then. And btw, while he added $7 trillion to our debt cutting taxes for corporations, he personally made over $500 million in those 4 years grifting other countries.
2
@lesliebethel5862 THANK YOU!!
2
@seanin1990 The government has nothing to do with it? You must be joking. What could you possibly do that would exempt you from the privilege and prosperity THIS country provides you?
2
@alvinconti6642 Most non-black Americans were aided by someone or something?? There were black Americans who took advantage of the Homestead Act. It was the Southern states that made efforts to deter black Americans from participating. “The black people they were promoted over were demonized because they wouldn’t help them”?? You mean they refused to do their job? Employers frown on that. And you have no idea why anyone was promoted and if you think that’s unique to you, being passed over for someone seemingly less qualified, happens to EVERYONE! What I’m asking for is a contemporary, personal example of being kept down in any way by your skin color. Can you do that?
2
@seanin1990 No it doesn’t. It means YOU EARNED IT, but they did not!
2
@seanin1990 YOU obviously got it. Why didn’t they?
2
@seanin1990 And those that do t earn it, are you responsible for giving them what you have earned so that they are equal?
2
@seanin1990 Come on. You make definitive statements but can’t support them or answer basic questions? What is that about? Do you think that’s “good enough”? You seem like someone who has got it going on. Be proud of what you’ve accomplished through hard work, intelligence and dedication. Stop making excuses for people who don’t understand any of those things and have no desire to.
2
@youngw1ze I have to tell you, I am not sure what you’re saying there. “Love it, or Leave it” is hardly an idea that applies exclusively to black americans. We’re the melting pot, remember? We ALL came from somewhere else. What “foundation” did you lay in this country? We ALL laid the foundation for this country. The only group that hasn’t engaged in armed conflict? Don’t know what you mean there.
2
@DAIONIA1 I see. You get your history from YouTube. Well that would explain a lot. You might want to broaden your sources.
2
@patriciajohnson3425 Excuse me?
2
@patriciajohnson3425 What on earth are you talking about?
2
@patriciajohnson3425 WE didn’t give reparations to the jews, Germany did!
2
@dunbarf2413 Applying deficits to black Americans? Like what?
2
@theodoreroberts3407 CRT is a cancer, not to mention a long debunked academic theory.
1
@brandiealeman9377 Don’t you dare. That’s child abuse.
1
@UTubeWhy This ain’t no truth! This here is a fiction!
1
Wait a minute, Sherman’s Field Order earmarked 400,000 acres to be distributed, right? But there were 4 million freed black slaves. That means each would have received .1 of an acre, not 40 acres. To give 40 acres to every freed slave would have taken all of FL, GA, NC, SC,and AL. Does anyone believe this country fought the bloodiest war in our history to hand over the majority of the confederate lands to freed slaves?
1
@TheYarbros Meant to be a beginning? You think the US government was going to set up freed slaves with land, wealth and prosperity? That would sure have been a first in the history of man, wouldn’t it?
1
@TheYarbros What do you mean it’s not in dispute? You are claiming it as justification for reparations.
1
@Freedmen-American-Reparations This time by choice.
1
@tselanecole5630 But YOU COULD teach morality?
1
@tselanecole5630 Tell that to the crips and the bloods.
1
@hotbreakers94569 Lol. Guess what? You’re not one of the exploited people either. If you dispute that then you’ll need to give me a contemporary, personal example of this exploitation YOU have suffered. I have asked so many people and none can come up with an answer. If you can, let’s hear it. Don’t look at me as a beneficiary. My people didn’t get to this country until the 20th century. They did nothing to you or your ancestors. I can assure you, I am quite well versed in actual history. You can have the revisionist history with all of its omitted facts and new spin that’s being pushed by some today. I’m not personally dictating anything to anyone. You are the ones demanding large sums of money for nothing. Surely you realize that you would need the majority of the American people behind your demands to even have a prayer of getting reparations, which to be honest have already been made impossible by the Supreme Court. That would be the majority of those non-black Americans you have been attacking, berating and insulting for the last decade, not to mention the large percentage of black Americans who wouldn’t qualify for them. Good idea? YOU say you are “owed”, the vast majority do NOT believe that, particularly considering most of us are all in the same boat now.
1
@hotbreakers94569 What statements are you referring to?
1
@t-love2366 Stockholm syndrome?? Oh please! What have YOU suffered in captivity.
1
@toddshaw9441 No one is bullying you but you!
1
@odb3699 EXCUSE ME?
1
@2kx62 I see. And exactly how do you propose they do that? Not to mention how long do you think that would last?
1
@TedMishler-b6n Ruined? How? And what were they telling you?
1
@timaxmessenger7586 What slaves?
1
@seanin1990 You won’t be laughing if he gets in. Then it will be too late.
1
@StreetSouljaz1 You must have missed them.
1
@seanin1990 Right. Well good luck with that. Rather starve where it’s pretty right?
1
@masterj479 From the frying pan into the fire, huh? Suit yourself.
1
@masterj479 Oh please. Not in this world.
1
@seanin1990 Then you’ve done better the last 4 years.
1
@seanin1990 And you are an American? How does that make sense?
