Gee, what a surprise! Imagine someone becoming disillusioned with humanity to the point of suicide just because they signed up to daily put their lives on the line to enforce the laws of society, protect its citizens and deal with the very worst among us so that the rest of us don’t have to, only to be vilified, disrespected, threatened and demeaned by those they protect, all for a salary that is less than 1% of the local CEO’s salary who bleeds the society under the protection and security they provide. What a shock!

Day by day. That’s all you can do. I am so sorry for your loss. To his family, one foot in front of the other. Stay strong. The pain will always be there but you will find a way. Sounds like that is what he would have wanted.

Oh this is beautiful! Just beautiful!

What the hell?? OK fine. Then let the school stay overcrowded so these parents’ kids can go thru k-12 and not be able to read proficiently when they graduate. What this, it would seem, is really about, is that parents don’t want to have to drive farther to drop their kids off at school. Way to prioritize there!

@fremontpathfinder8463 And yet if the school is becoming overcrowded, when their precious little darlings in high school get 450s on their SATs, the parents will blame it on the overcrowding and file a class action lawsuit against the district. Anything but hold the kids accountable. The district has no choice.

You have GOT to be kidding me!

Speech implies action ally having something to say worth hearing, doesn’t it. I don’t consider lying or whining “protected speech”, do you?
1
@anthonymcnatt3799 Then it doesn’t matter what you say either, does it? I will if you will.
1
@anthonymcnatt3799 Took an oath to and for what?
1
@anthonymcnatt3799 I”m assuming military or law enforcement. Let’s look at that. Your oath was to “”uphold” the Constitution and “protect” it from enemies foreign and domestic, right? In other words, your oath was to follow the constitution and to protect the democratic republic birthed from it, The US of A, correct? The interpretation of the Constitution, however, ie what it means and exactly what it is that needs to be upheld and protected, is not your call to make, is it?
1
@anthonymcnatt3799 But not all speech is protected, is it?
1
@anthonymcnatt3799 And by the way, if I was infringing on someone’s right to free speech, you don’t have the right to lay a finger on me and if you do, I will sue you.

@wadestanton At first thought, that would suck! But I would really need to know more. I would need to know what “beholden” means first. Corruption can be found in any profession Im afraid. But I think what this story is representative of is the entirely misplaced vitriol cops have to face these days from the public and the toll it takes on them. Disillusionment has become an inevitable fact of life today.
1
@wadestanton I must admit I wasn’t familiar with Standing Rock and the pipeline issue, so I looked it up. That appears to be a wholly different situation. The pipeline is clearly a political and legal issue that has gone back and forth, back and forth. You can not blame the cops for that. They enforce the law. They don’t decide what it means or says. That is decided by a court of law.
1
@wadestanton If you have a beef over that, you need to take that up with politicians.
1
@wadestanton Actually, you mean, not yet, right? The court did not end the pipeline, but rather sent it back for further environmental impact studies. In fact, a new draft environmental impact study was submitted for which public comment ends tomorrow. It is unclear what the court will do. Meanwhile, the pipeline is running. Have to wait and see what the court decides to do.

Lying sack of excrement. You could NOT have put her in jail. Your own investigation said it was meaningless!
1
This is ridiculous. Do you have any idea how much it would cost to get those buildings up and runnng and keeping them running. You can’t possibly be so dumb as to think the homeless problem solution is as simple as find them places to live, can you?
1
I’m not sure I understand what it is these people want. The school is over-crowded. That has to be corrected. What do you want them to do???
1
OK. Then what would you like them to do about the overcrowding TODAY?
1
@illuminateeye OK, but did the parents investigate whether the modular buildings solution would be consistent with state and local laws? I would very much doubt that simply building more classrooms would comply with existing building codes, safety codes, education codes, etc. If the parents “suggestions” were not feasible under the law, LAUSD has no choice, you know. The law would have to be changed through the legislature. I get the frustration. Why wasn’t this all anticipated and planned for from the beginning? I can’t answer that, but I can tell you I see it everywhere, in every industry. We’ve held the bar so low for ourselves and each other for so long, now we are seeing the fruits of our “not my problem” philosophy

or something not worth hearing.
