Lies are not political discourse. Disinformation is another word for LIES.

@paulbadics3500 But it isn’t really, is it? WE don’t like to think for ourselves in this country anymore. It’s too much trouble and we’re to busy being entertained, which is what we value most today. “Deciding for ourselves” SHOULD mean listening to viewpoints, researching on our own to fully grasp the issues, and thoughtfully contemplating them. Unfortunately, today it seemed people pick one of 2 sides and do, say and think what we’re told. The truth is not relative. So many of the lies politically thrown around today could be easily rejected with minimal independent investigation, but again, googling something one doesn’t know or understand is just too much trouble.

@hayleylongster4698 A lie is something you know to be false, based on evidence and verifiable facts, but assert anyway as truth: Yes, Opinions are the cornerstones of political debate. But it is common sense that for an opinion to be of any value, it must be based on a grasp of and understanding of the issue at hand. What these idiots are doing in these hearings is simply using it as a forum to insult the other side with half-truths, innuendo, mischaracterization, or even outright lies and to inflame the passions of even bigger idiots who simply refuse to do the research or educate themselves on an issue so that they are capable of rendering a educated opinion. Opinions based on no knowledge and no understanding constitutes intolerable whining, a waste of time.

But Coleman, everything with regard to sentencing is NOT constant. Those studies are meaningless unless they included each subjects specific criminal history, and the specific mitigating and aggravating factors in each case, which would pretty much be impossible. The truth is, judges don’t have that much discretion in sentencing.
