I am neither an Israeli nor am I a Palestinian so I say this without taking a side. But as we know, this conflict has been going on for some time now. The Two State Solution idea has been around and failed several times before. Indeed, it is clear that Hamas has no interest in such a solution. They are committed to ending Israel, PERIOD. A cease fire can only give a pause the killing on both sides and waiting for the next attack. Israel is surrounded by hostile forces in the region. Without US backing, I see know way for the state of Israel to survive. I don’t see any solution to this that doesn’t have a total winner and a total loser. I, at least, a) don’t see how it is my call to say who wins and who loses. b) don’t see one side as right and one side as wrong. It is what it is.
