  9. Don’t tell me..these are people contacted by police for various reasons and the refused or resisted doing what officers instructed which resulted in death or GBI, right? The law cannot be applied based on surrounding circumstances. The idea is our legislators have thought thru all scenarios and composed a written statement that states the proscribed behavior. If you do a specific act in violation, you have “broken the law.” At that point it shifts to the enforcement of those written statements. Officers DO NOT decide who will be charged with what. That’s for the prosecutors office alone. Cops job is to observe and respond when they have “probable cause” to think a law has been broken. Probable cause = reasonable belief that a crime was committed and suspect did it. It’s not their job to make subjective decisions of degree of guilt or anything like it. Those matters are for others to decide. You say “wicked system.” Could be true, but ask.... If not this system, then which one? Can you think of a better way?

  11.  @MrPredHunter  Criminals being glorified? Where? What I’m saying is there IS a common thread here. All involved fleeing, trying to evade, or refusing to cooperate with police. You do realize we have police to enforce the law. What would you suggest instead? How do we get the message out, IF YOURE ENCOUNTERED BY POLICE, DO WHAT THEY SAY! Don’t run, Don’t back or smack talk, just do it. Seems that’s what’s missing. I mean WHY? in 2021 would ANYONE resist arrest?

  12. MrPredHunter, what does Chicago have to do with Floyd. The incredible spike in homicides in Chicago is predominantly due to gang violence not police problems. Make up your mind. You either WANT police to protect the community from crime and violence or you don’t. You can’t say “Defund Police” and then complain when they can’t protect you or innocent kids from being caught by stray bullets.

  16.  @lucky4176  Yes, I got that. Thanks. The thing is, I’m just not group oriented so I don’t know how to answer that. I’m the product of my own thinking and conclusions. Descriptive terms (like terms of color) are becoming too all encompassing. I also happen to believe that right now the pivotal descriptive grouping in our society is “the haves vs the have nots;” the monied vs the non monied. The economic stratification in this country is threatening the very foundation of our democracy and it will be too late to save it if we don’t do something about THAT now. Black, white, yellow, blue, pink or Orange won’t make a damn bit of difference, if the “haves” (I.e a handful of multi- billionaires) in have all the $ or means of control. Life will be what they want and screw everyone else. But I digress....You see I like to do my own thinking. That’s probably because in today’s world you just can’t trust that the person making the statement has educated themselves enough to be able to make any statements at all! I know Baby Huey, our last commander in chief, said truth doesn’t matter and that it doesn’t matter whether or not anyone has the slightest idea what they’re talking about; just say it like you do over and over and over again. Oh and if someone asks a question you can’t answer, just keep saying the fiction over and over again until they stop asking. I get that’s the new order, but again, I’m not group oriented so I don’t subscribe.

  17. I’m afraid you cannot trust court system...PERIOD. Recent study shows 70% of Americans live pay check to pay check. Depending on where you live, modest attorney fees are usually $300-$400 PER HOUR! If you’re one of the 70%? Sorry, you can’t AFFORD justice.
