And when they have to hire American workers subject to American labor laws at American wage rates and it raises their costs as much as 30-40%, who do you think will have to absorb those costs. It would put many companies out business, so they would have to raise prices. 2 primary industries that rely on migrant labor, construction and agriculture would be decimated. Farmers already had to be bailed out by the government to the tune of $23 BILLION after the last tariff fiasco. We are in a national housing crisis and you want to significantly raise the costs of building?? Fewer builders will find it worth the effort.
