Half of Slovakia supports Ukraine (including housing as many refugees per capita as for example Poland). Fico won the elections with only 23% votes, some political maneuvering and complete fracturing of his opposition into 15+ political parties (they all have massive EGOs and boundless personal ambitions that prevented them from cooperating with each other). It is unfortunate, but we cannot remove Fico with civil unrest as he really won according to the democratic rules, even with only 23% votes. Best advice I can give you is to completely ignore everything coming from Slovakia. We are very small and economically insignificant, but our politicians have big mouths (however they did not even veto Ukraine in the EU, because when it comes to action, they are scared to go against EU, they just talk big). So something like a barking small dog - just ignore it.

Most Slovaks voted against Fico. Fico got only 23% of votes. But his opposition was incredibly fractured (15+ politicial parties) and only political parties getting 5% or more can get to the parliament (otherwise you would have 0.1% parties having 0.2% of a congressman). This means that most of the votes against Fico got less than 5% and did not matter in the end at all. Fico is also expert political manipulator and he was able to form a coalition. So do not be surprised that 50% of Slovakia hates Fico with a burning passion. He is not even pro-Russian. He has no ideology. He is your typical corrupt chameleon politician. I believe if the West would bribe him enough, he would support the West (as he did 20 years ago). Please, don't hate all of Slovakia ... just 23%.

Just UK and France have 3x the economy of Russia (even with their fake numbers). That's not even counting Germany, Italy, Spain, and the rest of Europe. And let's not even compare USA, Canada, Australia, Japan, Korea. The democratic world is almost 70% of entire world economy. Russia is less than 2%. People don't understand how incredibly expensive it is to maintain nuclear weapons and constantly exchange fissile material, otherwise it just won't work (not maybe, 100% won't work, that's physics). Russia cannot absolutely afford to maintain so many nukes with such tiny economy.

@JakeBroe I am from "NATO expansion" country. We begged for 10 years to be able to join, then we ALL voted in a referendum (to join EU+NATO). I was there 20 years ago, I voted, exactly to be rich like the EU and safe against Russia as NATO. Russia has ABSOLUTELY NO SAY in what we do with our country. Imperialist colonialism is over. No imperialist "spheres of influence". We are a sovereign country and make our own decisions. Russia's jurisdiction ends at their border. PERIOD.

I want to remind everyone here that Fico won elections with just 23% of the votes. He became prime minister by political maneuvering and by his opposition being 15 different political parties with boundless personal ambitions and egos (preventing them from unifying against Fico even when they knew exactly what is going to happen and people were warning them constantly about this before the elections). Majority of Slovaks do not support Fico, but politicians are unwilling to unite against him so he might win even the next elections, even if he gets less than 25% of the votes. I think this information has been missing on Jake's channel.

@JakeBroe As a Central European who grew up under Russian occupation I thnak you for explaining to people exactly why we joined NATO (I personally voted to join NATO 20 years ago to protect my country from Russia). Thank you Jake! You are one of the few who really get it.

That is EXACTLY how many regular Russians behave too. That's why this is appealing to them. Many over there are dirt poor and have miserable lives (outside of big cities), but they need this feeling that everyone is afraid of them - that gives meaning to their lives. The worst thing that happened to them this war is complete loss of fear of their military around the world. Now people are laughing at their weapons and soldiers. Nothing hurt them more emotionally than this.

@konrad01de I voted for my country to join NATO 20 years ago. It's my country, we decide where to join, not Russia. People talking about "NATO expansion" are the real imperialists who think Russia and USA can make agreements about fate of small countries (which are just subjects / colonies). This is textbook imperialism.

Ukraine deployed only 4 brigades of its 12-14 brigades prepared for the counter offensive. This has not even begun yet... and people are already screaming that the counter offensive failed. We will know in a couple of months, and even if it fails (which is always a possibility), it's not end of the war. Like you said - people are very impatient.

@TankoxD So Russia has lost all of Kyiv area they conquered, all around Kharkiv also lost, half Kherson region lost, entire Kherson city lost... but Ukraine is losing. For more than 12 months Russia has been just losing large parts of territory, and your conclusion is that Russia has practically won. Great military analysis Sun Tzu. Thank you for your input.

Russia had massive problems finding equipment for the 300k mobilized - they had to beg in North Korea and Iran, and still didn't get enough. Also training them was impossible. So even if Russia mobilized 10 million people - it will be 10 million civilian dudes without any training with no gear.

@r.a.acosta6528 They are not keeping Greenland. Danish PM said, if Greenland wants complete independence and can sustain itself, they can have it. But Greenland does NOT want to be part of USA, they want to be completely independent one day, till then they are dependent on Denmark. We are not in colonial era that we can give entire nations of people to someone else like trading cards. Only people of Greenland can make that decision. Why is USA pressuring Denmark, as if they were some "owners" of people in Greenland. Why not fly to Greenland and give them something they want? It's not that many people. But after what they are seeing with Puerto Rico, American Samoa, Guam... they are not stupid, they know it won't be good for them. Now they have free healthcare, free education, government funded retirement, long maternity leaves and all the EU labor protection laws. Who would want to give that up?

In my country, we have a Prime Minister that has been in power for 14 years now (with short breaks, all democratically, he is just that manipulative and populist). His voters still blame everything in our country on the opposition, foreign agents, and every other country, ethnic group or sexual orientation, just not the guy who has been in power for 14 years. This requires a special kind of stupd.

@jilbertb Not all wounds heal. Many will be disabled for the rest of their lives. That should count at least partially (I am disabled myself and life is not very fun to put it lightly). Even if they suffer non-serious injuries, they can have chronic pain for the rest of their lives. One might almost be tempted to feel bad for them... but no.

She is completely safe. They need her to take all the blame for entire economy. They can't just "accident" her away. If they didn't want her in that position, they would have told her and she would quit immediatelly. No, she needs to be very publicly prosecuted, take all the blame and end up in prison for the rest of her life (I think just rest of Russia's life, which is much shorter).

Show me when Peskov told the truth... even by accident. Becuase in all the years I haven't seen that happen once. It's usually a good rule of thumb to assume exactly the opposite of what he is saying is the real answer. It's almost cartoonish.

For people who think it was a brilliant Russian PsyOp. What did Ukraine/NATO/West lose: => Embarrassment for politicians who were overly optimistic about Russia falling apart in a civil war = humiliation / embarrassment What did Russia lose: => 25 000 of its best soldiers (Russian military has been only losing territory for 12 months straight, the only one who gained anything at all on Russian side was Wagner Group - now they are gone from Ukraine and possibly disbanded as a danger to the regime) => International humiliation and embarrassment for Russia when the world found out that Russia not only cannot protect its borders, but also any of its major cities including Moscow. There are absolutely no soldiers left in Russia, everyone is in Ukraine. If any country invaded Russia now it would take Moscow even with a very small army. Now for the whole world to see. Russia has nothing left - what we see in Ukraine is all that is left. => Putin has been revealed as a weak leader and a coward - coup in his country with large army marching on the capital city and he is just hiding in his bunker not giving any statements for 15 yours straight, pretending that nothing is happening - coward. For whole world to see and for all Russians to see. => Lots of civilians in Rostov cheered Wagner soldiers in the streets, giving them food and water, taking pictures with them and supporting them. This has revealed that many people in Russia do wish Putin's regime to be toppled. For the whole world to see, that Putin's 80% approval rate is fake. => Russian government has revealed itself to be absolutely incompetent to organize any resistance against Wagner. The maximum they could do was crash some dump trucks as a roadblock, that was removed by Wagner instantly. Then they excavated small part of the road and built one machine gun positions with 10 sandbags. All the defenders were just police and a handful of national guard - against TANKS and battle hardened mercenaries. Incompetent. Same with Russian media - they were so confused they didn't know what to air - no coordination, no plan, no spin - just videos about cutting grass on a stadium (1991 'Swan Lake moment'). => Russia lost 6 combat helicopters, 1 very expensive military airplane and 13 trained pilots (all dead) I am sure all these losses were worth the slight humiliation of western politicians. You have all been fooled! Russian PsyOp well done!

@JakeBroe I am new on your channel. Thank you for bringing up Czechoslovakia and Munich Agreement (betrayal, Czechoslovakia had military alliance with France that was thrown away that day). There is another parallel with Sudetenland. Hitler argued that Czechoslovak heavy bombers with range 850 km could reach almost any place in Germany and thus Czechoslovakia is a LEGITIMATE SECURITY CONCERN for Germany (exactly like Russia claiming Ukraine in NATO is a "legitimate security concern"). And western newspapers printed it with a map showing range of the bombers - I have a picture from one of those newspapers. Just don't anger Hitler, he has legitimate concerns and we don't want a war.

@hardtackbeans9790 Don't worry about warlords in Asian part of today's Russia. China would be there faster than you blink (it's already there) and would colonize it (for better or worse). It will not be unstable, it's in China's backyard. Whether this strengthens already dangerous adversary (China) is another thing.

As someone from Central Europe (EU/NATO ally). USA has gained back so much of our trust by correctly predicting that Russia would invade Ukraine (even when nobody believed you), and then by firmly supporting Ukraine. USA is fixing its bad reputation in this region and gaining geopolitical allies. This goes many countries beyond Ukraine. It would be silly to throw it all away and lose all geopolitical allies in Central and Eastern Europe. Either USA wants to be the superpower (and then should act like one) or someone else will take its place. This all can be gained for US (European allies, geopolitics, crippling of Russia, good reputation) for just 0.2% of your GDP. That's really a no-brainer.

@JJdV1980 I lived in Africa (I am European) and where I lived was extremely safe. I didn't see a single hint of danger or heard of anything bad happening. Africa is 300% the size of Europe, there are many places that are dangerous and there are many that are very safe, calm and nice. I don't think Russian billionaires will go there (when they can go to Dubai or Shanghai), I am just defending Africa. It's not like in the news. It's a normal place with normal people - good and bad.

Ukraine cannot do your creative and very interesting plan with the dams (I love it!), because that would make them suspect that they actually blew the Kakhovka dam. Unfortunately. ... Although maybe it's still worth it if they penetrate Russian defences and win the war.

@johncarlaw8633 Regarding the preparedness of UK for war with Nazi Germany in 1938. Germany was also not prepared - by sacrificing Czechoslovakia Hitler got a lot more heavy industry and entire year to bolster his army with both conscripts from the annexed territories and heavy artillery and tanks from the factories taken over. But I really appreciate you saying Munich was a "bastard thing to do". I absolutely do not want to dwell on the past - my focus is solely on the future, but current war events force me to revisit the past and see how much we have not learned from it. How we see rise of next Hitler and we pretend like "it's different this time because of X and Y". Same thing they said in 1938. There always valid excuses why it's different this time, but that's not how one learns from history to not make the same mistakes again.

@paulbedichek5177 All the Russian natural resources (oil, gas, coal, diamonds, metals) are in Siberia, so don't you worry about them, they could be like Saudi Arabia or Emirates (but unfortunately, they will be forever exploited, whether by Moscow or Beijing).

@patrickkelly6691 Yes, like my country. 20 years ago I voted to join EU and NATO and now we are so exploited that my standard of living has increased to 300%. I bet Siberia wants to be exploited the same way... maybe they finally get flushing toilets and running water. ... But China is already there in Siberia, chopping down entire forests (the locals are not very happy about it). China will only increase its influence there as Moscow fades over time.

I am subscribed to you instead of other Ukraine YouTubers because of your humanity Jake. Other YouTubers are counting tanks and meters of land... forgetting there are actually people living there and that story and life of every person there matters. You remain sensitive and humane despite this war full of injustice and cruelty. I believe this is one of the reasons why you have such a large following here.

@ian-nz-2000 Maintaining nuclear weapons is extremely expensive (all Russian nukes are from Soviet era, I SERIOUSLY DOUBT they still work, entire Russia has smaller economy than half of California, they stimply don't have enough money to maintain all those weapons, then put extreme levels of corruption on that and you have just a handful of soviet era nuclear weapons that maybe work). So I wouldn't be worried about fragments of Russia having real nuclear weapons that work (and 10 years from now 100% guaranteed due to radioactive decay of the fissile material). No worries.

@hardtackbeans9790 Of course there is still very realistic alternative that Russia will not break apart and instead will turn into something like North Korea. I think this scenario is more likely (unfortunately), but who knows - it is all very much unpredictable.

@r.a.acosta6528 Also, what is USA's problem with Greenland? If it's for national security (meaning against Russia, because there is no one else in the Arctic) then why not just ask nicely? US already has a large military base in Greenland that they are not paying anything for. I am sure something can be agreed upon regarding a second or third military base. US doesn't have to own the entire country to make a military base there, especially when one is there already. This has to be about exploiting mineral resources there and in the Arctic, not about national security. So why not just pay for the access rights like everyone else?

@johncarlaw8633 I read your post carefully. I quoted Churchill from public record, of course I don't know whether he actually said it, as I was not alive during WW2. But the point of that sentence is not in who said it but in the content. I admit I am biased. I was born in Czechoslovakia - we were the ones sacrificed. We even had military alliance with France (seems like a dejawu with Budapest Memorandum of 1994). But when totalitarian countries like Nazi Germany and Putin's Russia decide to ignore written military alliances, they just ignore them (any future Russia's "peace agreement" will be as worthless as Budapest Memorandum or any other agreement with Hitler - it's all the same, just a maneuver to re-arm and attack again, Russia will break any peace agreement that they want, they don't care, never have) and when you have alliance with Western Europe or USA and you get invaded, whether its France vs Czechoslovakia in 1938 or Budapest Memorandum of 1994 vs Crimea 2014 / Ukraine 2022, the West will just offer comfort and some weapons - when GUARANTEEING territorial integrity means you will send your entire military to defend that country... UK didn't do it, USA didn't do it... excuses again, as always. If they don't like it, then they should not have signed it in the first place. Ukraine would keep their 1000 nuclear weapons, bombers and ICBMs and in a matter of years would have decoded the launch codes (a lot of most advanced Soviet weaponry was made in Ukraine, they had the scientsts who would be able to do it), and there would be no invasion of Crimea in 2014 and there would be no war in 2022 and now. False promises of GUARANTEEING territorial integrity are just as dangerous as actual Russia. Us, the smaller countries in Central and Eastern Europe always get screwed. We are still pro-western, but very disappointed and disillusioned.

How can you have democratic elections in Ukraine when millions of Ukrainian citizens are under Russian occupation and are physically prevented from voting in the elections.

@hardtackbeans9790 Don't forget that it is very difficult to wage war on your neighbor when all your soldiers have been just killed in Ukraine. This breakup will not happen while Russia still has a military... it has to be ground down to nothing (which will take many years of war) in order for the regions feel safe enough to declare independence (Moscow not being able to send anything against them). Then it won't be easy for any of the breakaway regions to wage war on anyone. It might be less violent than you think. But it will definitely be chaotic, as all changes are.

Trump clearly signaled to Putin that he wants his companies to get fat contracts in Russia. That's what the Saudi Arabia meeting with Putin is about. Trump communicated it in his tweets that he looks forward to doing business with Russia, same with Marco Rubio - Lavrov phone call. Trump will get billions from Putin and then force Ukraine to lose.

I was born in Czechoslovakia and was forced to grow up under Russian occupation (with tanks and everything) - they killed quarter of my family (grandparents), took everything we had and sent men from my family to labor camps (fortunately not Siberia but local one - only torture and horrible labor, but they survived). They also destroyed our economy and part of our culture and mindset (lots of old people are permanently damaged by it). Never again! That's why Ukraine has to explain Russian colonization to the West Europe and USA (I don't blame them, they cannot know what Russia truly is, they were not occupied), but Ukraine needs not to explain anything to people from Poland, Czechia, Slovakia, Estonia, Latvia, Lithuania - no words necessary, we know.

@wumbleisthebest3270 Every time a country agressively invades another one - if it wins, it can take all the territory, subdue people, relocate them forcibly, commit genocide - there is nobody to stop it. But when the invading country loses the war - it itself can be completely destroyed or genocided. I always marvel and the surprise of invading country when suddenly the war comes to their own homes and they are very very lucky to be even allowed to exist. Russians will be surprised in the same way in this decade.

@wumbleisthebest3270 My comment was aimed more at today's Russia than at your ancestors in Sudetenland. I agree with your statements that not all Germans were guilty (most definitely were, same as most Russians are today, but not all), and also with the statement that two wrongs don't make one right. You were not there personally when Nazis killed my grand-grandfather, and I was not there when my country kicked your ancestors out of Sudetenland. It was all a very long time ago and none of the people who did it are alive anymore. Let's not repeat the mistakes and horrible things our ancestors did, but instead build a better future with a clean slate. Germany moved on and is focused on its future. Czechia and Slovakia moved on and we are focused on our future. Russia didn't move on - constantly obsessing about what was (Russian Empire, USSR), wishing to return time back, instead of focusing on their own future.

@miroslavdusin4325 You are both arguing about something as old as Humanity itself. Larger nation or tribe invades smaller one, murders half the population, enslaves the rest, takes their land... and then 4 generations later you want to return land to the original smaller nation. But by that time everyone who commited the attrocity is already dead and everyone living on the stolen land has been born there (not their choice) and lived their entire life there - they didn't do anything wrong and had no say in what happened 4 generations ago. So this is a difficult situation, because the land was stolen and attrocities were commited, but by returning land you will severely punish people who didn't do it and are innocent. By not returning the land you will punish the true victims who lost their land and their families and everything. How to resolve this? There is no good solution. This is and always has been an extremely painful and difficult situation that has no good solutions. Thousands of smarter people than the three of us tried to solve this and never came with a good solution. That's why the two of you cannot agree, because you both have good arguments, but there is no solution.

Most importantly - there are people living there. Millions of people will be living under occupation (they are already) in Russian hell. I know, I grew up in a communist country occupied by Russia. You don't want that for those millions of Ukrainians. It's not just about giving up territory.

@kai223noa6 They barely have any nukes. They need extremely expensive maintenance and complete replacement of the fissile material every 10 years. Russia has economy that is smaller than Canada, too small for their nuclear ambitions... they can spare 3-4 billion on maintenance and absolute majority is stolen by their generals, colonels and oligarchs... just look at the rest of the Russian military - it's all stolen ("transformed" into superyachts). Plus if they used the very small number of nukes they can afford to maintain and let's say the budget was not stolen (it was), Putin, Peskov, Lavrov, Shoigu, Gerasimov - all dead, 100% they would not live next 12 months. And they would lose all their fictional allies (like China), but then again, Russia is stupid enough to do almost anything. It is more realistic they would just blow up Zaporozhia nuclear power plant... which means it will reach me and my family in 1-2 days. NATO should stop toying with Ukraine and just obliterate Russia. NATO spends 240x more on military than Ukraine. Russia has problem fighting 1 Ukraine, imagine fighting 240 Ukraines at the same time. The military aid sent to Ukraine is just 0.2% of our GDP. Russia can't even protect their borders ...or their capital city from toy drones. This is outright cruel letting this war on when we can just end it.

Exactly the same here (disabled), only I live right next to Ukraine (I grew up under Russian occupation) so it's more personal (and I have 6 Ukrainian refugees in my house, 2 mothers 4 kids), but otherwise the same. Jake did an excellent job here. My respect!

@GeorgeGzirishvili I wouldn't be happy about China dominating. They are exactly like Soviet Union on the inside, just 10x larger in every way. The horrible things happening inside China today, you don't want that. We are alone my friend, against USA-Russia-China. Maybe we can rally together all the free democratic countries around the world and defend ourselves, but it doesn't look very good.

@Fromleftfield01 Little bit of context from Slovakia: Fico is not pro-Russian by nature (he has no personal beliefs, he is your typical extremely corrupt political operator who is also very capable orator and political manipulator, extremely capable). 4 years ago, police (under new government) started serious investigation into massive corruption of previous government officials (dozens of people involved, including Fico). That meant Fico had to win this election (1 year ago) otherwise he would go to prison for the rest of his life, and many many powerful people around him. The already present and pervasive Russian propaganda came in handy and he used it as a tool to get back to power and replace prosecutors and police directorate. He is pro-Russian because it was politically profitable for him to be (I suspect similar motivations in many of the pro-Russian populists in the EU countries). Russia has been brainwashing us through social media for 10+ years, and if these politicians come to the scene and say "USA bad! NATO bad! EU bad!" stupid people brainwashed by Russia vote for them because "He's the only one saying it like it is!". I will not blame USA for stupidity of my people... but this could all have been prevented if CIA or NSA came to the offices of Facebook and YouTube/Google, and forced them to not actively promote Russian propaganda in allied countries. Even today if I open YouTube without signing into my account, YouTube actively promote pro-Russian propaganda in Slovak language non-stop from every side, it's like 30% of all recommendations I get. Most of this propaganda is anti-American (anti-USA)... actively promoted by an American company (Google, Facebook). I don't understand this.

Just give Slovakia 2 more years and it will be back inside EU not causing any trouble. Slovakia had very pro-western and pro-Ukrainian government until last year. It's just politicial games, coalitions and fracturing of the opposition that lead to election of Fico (with just 23% of the votes). That would be like prosecuting USA because they elected Donald Trump. It's temporary and it's not like entire country supports everything Donald Trump says or does.

I cannot vouch for their bravery (you never know what you would do yourself until it really happens), I can absolutely tell you they don't want communist China in any way or form over there. Land belongs to the people who were born there, lived their entire lives there, died there, and their children lived their entire lives there - and they all want to be left alone and nothing to do with communist China. People there were so nice to me, going so much out of their way to help a stranger. Only they can decide what to do with their own land. China wants to come in there and kill them to take that land from them. Simple as that. I am afraid Macron and Scholz don't care about human lives at all, they just care about money. China has more money. Same with Russia and Ukraine.

There is nothing wrong with Africa (I love it!) but these oligarchs desperately need company of their peers - other billionaires. They don't want to spend their time with us peasants. @ashroskell I agree with everything you wrote. Revolution is possible and internal collapse in Russia is likely. But I belive it won't change much on their foreign policy. Fundamental problem is they have been brainwashed since birth that Russia is the most powerful and most important country in the world - a superpower. This is the very core of their identity. They cannot exist without it. They will rather die than to not be a superpower. Even if there is a revolution in Russia, someone like Prigozhin will just replace Putin. Even in the very unlikely event that Navalny becomes their supreme leader, they will go back to their old ways AGAIN in a decade or two. We are just kicking the can down the road for our children. Russia has to be completely dismantled as a country and broken up into 30 small pieces (which will be better for most of those new countries frankly, oil and gas producing regions will finally have roads and toliets). This is the only way to secure peace in Europe for the future generations. Russia has to be completely defeated and conquered like Germany and Japan (look how imensely beneficial it was for both these countries).

@Phonehomefool West and allies are 67% of the world economy, Russia is little bit above 1%. NATO is 1 billion people, Russia is 0.14 billion. NATO spends 24x more on military than Russia and 240x more than Ukraine (Russia has serious problems fighting 1 Ukraine, now imagine fighting 240 Ukraines at the same time). NATO has 22000 military aircraft. Some people don't understand how absurdly one-sided NATO vs Russia is. These are just hard factual numbers. The West is sending 0.2% of GDP as military aid to Ukraine. Would you like to see the remaining 99.8%?

What people from the West do not know is that all these older people were severely brainwashed as children by Russia. There was a system during the dictatorship were all children were completely brainwashed. And parents couldn't do anything against it because if they told the truth to their kid it could talk to other kids at school and they can report it to the authorities (which happened a lot) and the parents could be taken, never to be seen again. So most parents preteneded, and by the time kids were grown up, they were severely brainwashed. Those kids are today's 40-90 year olds. This brainwashing didn't work on most (I can see it in my family, somewhere between one third to one half of the people are still brainwashed). I just wanted to explain it to you, why in the hell would anyone who survived Russian occupation support Russia like a fanatic.

I don't think Elon takes drugs. I think he has some serious mental defect. Exactly as you wrote "immature psychotic decisions" and everything he does is "weird" (little weird is ok, but he is non-stop weird). I think being so extremely popular on Twitter and in the media made his mental state even worse - he ist like a drug addict for people's attention and approval (especially on Twitter, this reminds me little bit of Trump and his addiction to Twitter). I also wouldn't say it's Elon's Falcon 9 (it is, but he didn't design it... he cosplays an engineer, but read quora testimonies from engineers working at SpaceX (even as far back as 2014), how ruthlessly capitalist Elon is and unpredictably fires people on a whim and then claims all the credit as if he invented SpaceX and Tesla. It's the incredibly hard work of hundreds of engineers working 6 days a week (Elon always trying to force them to 7 days per week). ... He lost all my respect 3 years ago when he forced thousands of workers into factories when he was strictly prohibited to do so by California government. He went on TV and said he takes full responsiblity. Well, absolutely nothing happened to him, because billionaires are untouchable (like aristocracy). If you did the same thing you would be rotting in jail. He endangered thousands of people and possibly even killed some. That was when I realized he absolutely doesn't care about human lives, he cares only about his companies and his personal goals. No empathy. No compassion. This thing with Ukraine just reinforced it. I love how he pretends he is saving Ukraine, when in fact Pentagon is paying for everything and even at extremely overinflated prices (more than 1 thousand per StarLink per month when commercial price in Ukraine is 70 bucks per month - and it is the same StarLink, it is not some "improved military version". And then he joins Pentagon's tender for military Internet in Ukraine, wins it, and then writes to media that StarLink is for peaceful purposes only... sure... then why do you apply for extremely lucrative tenders at Pentagon with it? Also offering Pentagon to build another StarLink specifically for military purposes (so is he a pacifist like he pretends in the media, or does he want those fat billion-dollar contracts at Pentagon?).

Brother, I agree with everything you wrote, but one big correction. Only 23% of people voted for Fico. For example Hlas pretended to be pro-EU and pro-Western. Of course that was a lie and Hlas was just servant of Fico to soak up all the votes of people who are on the similar side of political spectrum as Fico, but didn't want to vote for him because of the anti-EU rhetoric. But I wouldn't say that all that 15% of people who voted Hlas are anti-Ukrainian or anti-western. They were just easily deceived (as usual).

It is actually very simple to understand. Russia just fights for its interests every single time and wants to win everything all the time no matter the cost. It doesn't matter whether there are some treaties, principles, honor, values, laws. Nothing matters to Russia - only to win. Now, when they promote their propaganda outside, they have to pretend, but on the inside, they understand. It's not complicated.

Trust is built over 100 years and can be lost in a single day. The US allies are gone. Forever. It's not so much about one many - every country can get horrible president. It's about how incredibly fast has significant part of USA turned on their closest and most loyal ally (Canada) and on all other allies (Greenland / EU, Panama, Mexico). If you can love someone and 2 weeks later show extreme hatred for the same country, USA can never be truest ever again - no matter who is the president, because these people who now hate Canada and EU will always stay.

Russia had a chance to win this war and still has. Not on the battlefield and absolutely not economically, but though propaganda in the West, brainwashing people to vote for "disruptive" candidates, ultra-nationalists and Kremlin sponsored politicians. This war has been a stalemate for more than 2 years, war of attrition. It will not be won on the battlefield. It's now about who's economy or will to fight will collapse first will lose the war. If we fully support Ukraine, Russia cannot afford to finance this war for more than next few years.

Trump is not incompetent... his goal is to extrat billions and billions for himself and his donors - from every country where it's even remotely possible (including USA). In this sense, he is competent. Putin has obviously promised him corrupt deals, so he will destroy Ukraine too and will try to take down the EU.

@istvanglock7445 China is already taking advantage from behind. They are just not using military to do it. They are buying businesses in Russia, overtaking makrets, exploiting Russian natural resources for extremely low prices. Everything is cheap for China now because of the sanctions on Russia. No military invasion necessary (at least yet). But we should all be aware... China has same ambitions as Russia to dominate all, and sooner or later we will have to fight them. China is 10x larger economy than Russia and 10x larger population, with same levels of corruption and military incompetence. This will not be easy at all and I am not looking forward to it.

If you take someone's 1000 nuclear weapons in exchange for protection, then you are bound to protect. Same goes for Europe of course. Otherwise US has to tell the whole world to never ever trust any contract with the US so that we all can start mass producing our own nuclear weapons. It's fine. US just needs to be clear with us.

We are not a dictatorship (yet), the institutions are still working, and the elections were free (votes counted honestly). However there is MASSIVE Russian propaganda here comming solely through YouTube, Facebook and Twitter. These American owned social media are actively promoting Russian propaganda in Slovak language non-stop and anti-American hate (US government should probably have a talk with them, this is against US interests and even a security threat as Slovakia can veto in EU and NATO). All that Russian propaganda has brainwashed around 1/3 of the population of Slovakia (I am deeply ashamed of them, I don't even want to admit I come from the same country as them). 1/3 of the population was enough. Fico won the elections with only 23% of the votes by political maneuvering, but mostly because his opposition is so incompetent you wouldn't believe it, and they all have tremendous egos and boundless personal ambitions and are fractured into 15+ political parties. I don't see how we can get rid of Fico even if there were new elections today. There has to be someone who can overtake the opposition. We had an amazing president, but she refused to run again after very serious death threats from Fico's fanatical voters to the life of her daughter and her family. Anyone who was decent didn't survive in our politics for too long because of how toxic and dangerous it is. I don't know how to fix it... so I just protest so the world can see that 60% of our country have not lost their minds. Fortunately, we are too small and too irrelevant to cause any real trouble for Ukraine.
