  4. The international law says you absolutely have to process asylum seekers, but they have this right in the NEAREST safe country. Last time I checked Germany was not in the Middle East or Central Asia. Asylum seekers can cross ONE border and if they are in a safe country, they are forced to ask for asylum there. That is the international law.

And regarding the economy, it's really not that bad as media are trying to portray it. I think Canada, Australia and New Zealand have values very similar to those of EU countries. I am not trying to persuade you, I just find the idea of Canada joining just very amusing, that's all. Cheers!

  14. What do they mean by "removing warrant on Putin". Judiciary is independent branch from politics. Someone commited a crime, there is no way politician can just force judges to ignore it. These are basic values of democracy, justice and fairness.

  16. We (EU) can defend against Russia. But what's the point of USA being in NATO then? It's just as "valuable" as Budapest Memorandum of 1994, where USA took 1700 nuclear weapons from the third most nuclear armed country in the world (Ukraine) and promised nothing in return (a sacmmer country)... or to protect Ukraine from Russia (USA is then a breaker of oaths). We should not have trusted USA with NATO. We should have asked USA to leave NATO (which may still happen), or create our own alliance and leave NATO empty.

The moment you have valid visa, you have been vetted by the intelligence and law enforcement agencies as not a threat to the US. Why some random airport security is checking your private posts on social media on your phone. I belive US has a protection against this right in the constitution. But as everyone else said: Don't go to the United States.

Some people think Russia cannot lose, Russia is big and mighty, Russia cannot fall apart. Well, Soviet Union was twice the population of Russia and twice the economy and had a much more powerful military, and also nobody even dreamed of it falling apart... yet it did completely collapse and die. Just mark my words and watch Russia do the same. History is repeating.

  35.  @pugilist102  USA has already military base in Greenland. Greenland is in NATO. All USA has to do is to send some diplomat and ask nicely for another military base, or two, or three. Explain why is it important and ask nicely. We are all in the same miliatry alliance and sowrn an oath to protect each other. 100% USA will be able to negotiate as many new miliatry bases in Greenland as necessary. But no... let's not ask at all and just take over the entire country by force and indimidation. Do you think the founding fathers would be proud?

  38.  @lisaconnor3075  While all your points are true in principle, I have to add one anecdotal case. I was born and grew up in totalitarian communist country under military occupation from Russia. That wasn't just "authoritative regime", that was brutal repressions, people disappearing, no political rights, no freedom of speech, and you can't even leave the country - it is not allowed, you will get shot. If you manage to sneak out somehow your entire extended family gets punished for a generation. You cannot imagine how I wished someone from the West would come and save us. Now we have corporations and the exploitation you are talking about, and it's so much better than what we had back then. Yes, greedy corporate capitalism is exploitative in nature, but you are at least still free, you can run away, you can do something. In a dictatorship, you cannot do anything, not even leave, you don't own your life.

And then you say "we sent 100 billion to Ukraine". No you didn't, you bought yourself 100 billion in weapons and gave the old ones to Ukraine.

According to that constituion - every German citizen has the same rights, including voting rights, except where it goes against the constitution (protecting human rights) or against the law. There is no such thing as "indigenous people" in the constitution. Germany is no longer just Germans. Deal with it.

  46.  @tonihil  Crimean referendum was extremely unreliable. I am from a neighboring country and I have many friends from Ukraine (and few from Russia) and one of my friends is actually from Crimea. She told me about Russian soldiers everywhere, everyone was scared to death and you can guess who counted the votes. Ukrainians were constantly harassed and persecuded after the annexation and few months later she had to leave, like many many other Ukrainians. It was unlivable there. ... If there was a referendum there with INTERNATIONAL observers from 200+ countries (ten thousand observers minimum, because it's a very very sensitive issue) and absolutely no military or armed men of any kind, no pressure from anyone)... then I would recognize their independence (I am for self-determination). Kosovo should have done the same. Catalonia should have been give the same opportunity. Taiwan the same (although they were NEVER Chinese and nobody there wants to be par of China... I spent some time there and never met a Taiwanese who wanted that). So I accept your argument about the legitimacy of the "referendum" of independence of Kosovo. Same principle applies to Crimea, Donbas, and every other region. INCLUDING Chechnya and Dagestan.

  47. ​ @ricardosmythe2548  Why don't you do even basic search before you write here. EU places average of 3.6% tariff on imports from USA. USA had average of 2.5% tariffs on imports from EU. VAT is charged to local companies as well (there are no expemptions, imported or not) and paid by us, the EU citizens, so VAT is of no concern to the US companies, they don't pay it and it applies to all products sold here.

There is no advantage, just a lot of Russian soldiers died in Rasputica (which was 100% predictable event). If Russia concentrated on Donbas from the beginning result would be the same - entire UA army in Donbas and RU army in Donbas. This way it was split on both sides.
