Seems like a con artists to me. I wonder why you guys are all on board without having looked into the technology. EDIT: Just remembered, who that guy is. He sells regular driver assistance systems that most new cars already have. He doesn't even attempt to do make any sort of progress in autonomous learning. He probably doesn't know the first thing about ML.
4
Car theft already exists, why should no one be interested in breaking into your car via your phone?
4
I'm sort of disappointed that Reason fell for this con artist. He packaged driver assistance systems that already exist in many regular cars. He has no idea about autonomous driving, his products are not an alternative to Google, Tesla, etc. You only ever see his system drive straight ahead on highways. My dad's ten year old car can do that.
3
He doesn't even attempt to advance autonomous driving. No wonder I've never heard from this poser.
2
Because you're a guillible idiot. The guy is a narcissist. His system is no more than an extended cruise control - it has nothing to do with the research into autonomous driving spearheaded by Google and Co. I guess he doesn't even have superficial knowledge of ML.
2
I give my neighbor a pear, he gives me an apple. Where is the "profit"? There doesn't need to be identifiable profit if everyone gets ever better goods and services.
2
That code is direct evidence for common descend and evolution, you moron. It functions nothing like something that's designed. Don't they have biology in school where you live?
1
He seems like a narcissistic con artist, who tricks people without much technical knowledge. He sells cruise control systems and pretends he is standing up to researchers in autonomous driving. It would be funny if people didn't buy into it.
1
How about you obtain superficial knowledge about a topic, before making grand proclamations?
1
He's the same, but with less lies and more narcissism. I don't know why people keep falling for this.
1
It's not "self driving". His product is no more than basic driver assistance that already exists in regular cars. My dad's ten year old toyota can do what his system does.
1
They do call it that. Further they are self driving in many situations.
1
Yeah this guy is selling cruise control to guillible people. What he does has nothing to do with the research of Google and others.
1
Yes and that's what Google etc are working on and what this dude doesn't even comprehend superficially. He probably doesn't know the first thing about ML. What he knows is how to sell basic driver assistance systems. Also if he isn't a narcissist, I'm eating a hat.
1
That's bullshit. His system doesn't do what google, tesla, etc do. It's a con. My fathers ten year old toyota can drive straight ahead on a highway. That's approximately what his system does. Probably doesn't know a thing about ML.
1
Don't believe everything this narcissist says. Security is not important in order to escape assassinations. It is important to keep your private information private and to avoid theft.
1
@The4valanche He's the typical narcissist, who attracts support by acting like a rebel.
1
@rars0n People hack into all sorts of systems. Often without even a monetary motive. It doesn't even have to be targeted. Your phone could catch a virus that disables your steering months later.
1
@rars0n I still close my car and my house even though the probability of someone breaking in is low. Some people are "morons". You also assume that people won't use their smartphones differently in the future. I'm usually not interested in information security, but the extreme disregard you guys have for it is concerning.
1
I don't think you have a clue about the progress.
1
@TheLectureRoom123 You can continue to be an armchair expert, judging work, you are not even aware of, with silly quips, or you can begin to acknowledge that maybe there is something going on outside of your facebook feed.
1
@TheLectureRoom123 From whatever hose you are drinking, you shouldn't assume that it fairly represents the research. Self driving cars exist. They work just fine. Are they as good as humans in all possible situations? Of course not, that's pretty much an AI-complete problem.
1
So that's how psychopaths become successful. People, who think that "extreme confidence" is a good sign, rather than a red flag.
1
@Troy_K There's a difference between being "confident in your product" and having an "extreme level of confidence" about everything.
