  5. What do you do with someone, who is horrified that married bachelors don't exist? Clearly their horror can have nothing to do with married bachelors. There is no hypothetical world with married bachelors they can compare their world to. People think that from "free will" derives justification of hatred and pride. Their clinging to hatred and pride is what causes their distress.

  8. Free will was invented philosophically as a "get out of jail" card for the Christian god. Compatibilist agency doesn't do it. Surveys show that people don't consider combatibilist notions "free will" at all.
