  1. I lost interest at some point with the dude's imaginary woman sidestory. Also the aliens seemed to get less and less plausible as the book progressed. But maybe those are just red herrings and it all makes sense in the end? Right now people think they're from literally the next star system and want to settle ours, because of the earth. Doesn't make sense to me why they would need a planet if they can make interstellar craft.

  2.  @nancyann1090  Reading a textbook start to finish is a waste of time and actually dangerously deludes you about your own knowledge. You should come up with concrete questions and solve them with the textbook. Or better yet, the textbook should be useful for concrete problems you have. I've listened to tons of lectures and audiobooks and I only retain a tiny amount of that information.
