@FoolMisinfo Not sure what you mean with "outside context". In Christianity God tortures people forever. And demons don't do much at all. They're also just his sock puppets anyways.

@mediocrebeans4228 It's possible that your shoes explode when you put them on. That's not a reason not to put them on. You don't act on what's possible, you act on what you believe in. To think talking to a board could endanger you in any way implies a very strong belief in demons.

@Okito.jyk11725 There is no risk. The problem is that you're superstitious in a very particular way. Besides, the spooky ghosts might just as well get angry with you for NOT using the board. You have zero reason to believe one over the other even if you believe in demons.

@lolnothxyt There is no such sensation. It's crazy how no one has ever told you about confirmation bias. If you think you "knew" something, but you didn't write it down or communicate it before it happened, you probably didn't know it. >we don't fully know how the world works That's an argument AGAINST folk superstitions, not in their favour. When we find out new things about physics, it's never stuff like "crossing black cats gives bad luck". It's not stuff that's inuitive to some folks and was dismissed as nonsense, it's novel unintuitive things.

@atemitaq_5204 Nothing happened "fr", Christians just love telling dumbass conversion stories and dunking on pagans.

When you're talking to someone, who doesn't respond or react in any way, it doesn't matter who you're talking to.

@clayxros576 It's not ancient, it's from the late 19th century when people came up with heaps and heaps of this nonsense. There are no "passing demons" and if they were, there is absolute no reason to think they're getting any angrier at you or more powerful or whatever for you speaking to a board. Every day you do stuff that's bad according to the superstition of some people somewhere. You're totally lost in delusion.

@ObiWanCannoli1 >I don't necessarily believe in it...but its not worth it. Then you do believe in it. I don't think you guys understand what not believing in something means. If I told you that I'm a Nigerian prince and I will send you 10 billion dollars if you send me 100€, do you agree to that in order to not risk missing out?

@clayxros576 Your god is omnipotent, but he has adversaries? Your god is omnipotent, but his magic is nullified by a Hasbro boardgame? None of this is even internally consistent. Either you believe in an all powerful god, or you believe that there is evil spirits everywhere. Somehow you combine the worst of both beliefs.

@1dingerr What if the demons are helpful? What if they're angry if you don't use the board? What if your god tortures you for refusing to talk to demons?
1
@reallyoriginalname1221 No, you're literally just being a superstitious idiot. There is no wisdom to that at all.

In Christianity demons aren't "from hell", and they are really just God's sockpuppets. The villain is Yahwe and Jesus, they don't need to be replaced to be horrible. In the bible Yahwe and Satan have a jolly good time torturing Job.
