  2. Do you actually believe your own crap? When we do PRECISELY THE OPPOSITE of what the bible says, Christianity should get credit? The bible encourages slavery, prescribes monarchy, condemns religious freedom, condemns freedom of expression, demands the subjugation of women, encourages violence against children... the bible is everything "Western values" are against.

  7. I don't think that that explains political divides. There would still be political divides without all of these biases, because people have different information. Even under the same reasonable epistemic biases people would come to disagree. And there is other behaviors that we call unreasonable and that also leads to groups forming, such as expressing what your peers express, rather than what you have come to believe based on what feels like it makes sense / corresponds to the evidence, and applying stated principles selectively.
