Magic is intuitive but demonstrably false. Physics is counter intuitive but demonstrably right.

I've seen one abominable halfwit claiming that NOT believing in a diety is simple minded. XD Can you believe it...

Bigsby That was truly masterfully put; you speak from my heart.

Rejecting dogma is not a dogma, you unbearable cultist.

Zizi Mugen "it's a matter of degrading all that is not one's own worldview" That's what you do with every single religion, that's not your own. Not as a person, but as a fundamental aspect of your faith. Monotheism is fundamentally exclusive and arrogant.
3
Zizi Mugen "So having one's own worldview automatically means that we must degrade, insult, and belittle all others for seeing the world differently?" Have you read your holy book? It has already done the degrading, insulting and belittling for you. That doesn't mean that Christians and Muslims don't continue with it nonetheless. Dawkins is much more careful with Christianity than Christians are with other faiths.

Do you have anything to correct, nitwit?

You know yourself that you are the small minded one. Ascribing agency to everything. Unwilling to accept what we know about the world. Unable to grasp the size of the cosmos.

robert mccully No, YOU have very little knowledge.
1
robert mccully No, a theory is something well substantiated. What you mean is a hypothesis.
1
robert mccully Good copy and paste. Now it would be great if you also understood this.

robert mccully You are actually trying to bring down our society. Wow. You are not even hiding it that you want to replace the whole of our knowledge with your belief system. You are open that we should abandon our critical faculties and our compassion for a reward in the afterlife... I cannot believe it, but here you openly speaking against improving the world, against gathering knowledge, against helping our fellow humans - and for the ridiculously stupid and selfish goal of getting a pat on the back by the invisible despot in the sky.
1
robert mccully No, YOU are arguing with gods. YOU are arguing with authority. YOU say that we should abandon our responsibility and bow down to some celestial king. I say that we should bow down to NOONE and think for ourselves and take responsibility for our actions to help our fellow humans. No gods or kings should stand in the way of our judgement. I cannot say how vile, how evil, it is to me, to propagate the notion that giving up your reason and responsibility is somehow a good thing.
1
robert mccully You simply can't get it into your head that someone is not an authoritarian creep like you. You just can't get it into your head that people act out of compassion, not to be rewarded personally. When I help someone, I want THEM to feel good, not receive a reward from desert specter.
1
robert mccully There is no evidence although believers have looked for it desperately for thousands of years. And even if there was some evidence for your ancient demon's existence, you'd still have to convince me to help him in his villainous deeds rather than my fellow humans. But what am I talking about? I already know that argument. It's one from power. Your theology is the ultimate version of the rule of the strong.

Yeah a vast expanse you can't comprehend. That's partly why you still cling to sky daddy.
