@bsidegirl9069 No, what's despicable and cruel is you breeding animals solely to eat them. Every single week your consumption causes more suffering than all zoos put together.
1
Lol. Which animals are "supposed" to be free? Your entire worldview is idiotic and absurd.
1
There's really famous wild Orcas with bent back fins. There's a pair of brothers hunting great white sharks.
1
@zombiedoggie2732 He didn't "snap", he performed three calculated murders. He could have killed any human in the tank or close to it at any time if he wished.
1
Killing things good, entertaining people bad. Got it.
1
@mushyroom9569 Not if you're a human. Whales have actually helped humans on various occasions. To my knowledge a wild orca has never attacked a human. Sharks eat people all the time.
1
@CapitalistDeathCult > was splashing everywhere when he was trying to swim Yes, that happens when you swim. >which made the shark think he was prey Which is correct. Seems like the shark is smarter than you.
1
@funpheonix9752 No, they aren't apex predators, because they're being eaten by bigger sharks or orcas. And something being an "apex predator" doesn't mean it's particularly dangerous at all.
1
That's not what happened with Harambe at all. The gorilla was an imminent threat to a child, that had dropped into the enclosure. They killed the gorilla to keep the child safe. The hysterical, idiotic reaction to the death of the gorilla birthed the internet meme, which was originally about mocking the people being upset about Harambe being killed.
1
That makes no sense whatsoever. Most "wild animals" can't drown a human in a tank. Also all non "wild" animals started out as wild animals. Your entire worldview makes no sense.
1
You're totally incomprehensible.
1
How is it a wild animal? It's been brought up in captivity and regularly performs with humans. He was correct in assuming that it's likely harmless. Orcas have never attacked humans in the wild. And they have rarely attacked even in captivity. So hobo was correct in trying to swim with the orca.
1
Given that they trained and performed with lots and lots of those Orcas for many decades, it obviously does fit into their "programming". Also I don't see any reason to believe that predators are any less "predictable" than plant eaters.
1
@benl8704 Forced how? The Orcas could have eaten the human performers at any time if they weren't ok with doing those shows.
1
@R0Tl Cetatean and whale are the same thing.
1
@OfftheWallTales Orcas aren't retarded. He knew perfectly well that the "male" human didn't pose a threat to him. He likely suspected that the guy wasn't supposed to be there and that the humans would be fine with him killing em. After all he had gotten away with murder before.
1
If you think that's "obvious", you're obviously not thinking about what you're writing at all. You think a beetle would be happier being eaten alive from the inside rather than living in beetle-paradise with no diseases and unlimited leaves and lady beetles?
1
This kind of comment is one of the stupidest I can think of. Something being a "wild" animal in no way whatsoever implies that it's dangerous. In many instances domesticated animals are way, way more dangerous than wild counterparts. Large dogs are more dangerous than wolves for example.
1
@SebastianDingleswitch Did you pay any attention? They trained lots of those Orcas for many decades. It's perfectly safe. You would probably have more deaths training house cats. >nor deserves to be punished for what it does naturally outside of captivity They never attack humans in the wild. Imo he killed those people, because he figured out that they wouldn't do anything to him.
1
@starrywizdom The opposite is likely the case. They don't attack humans because they know we can mess with them.
1
Literally the opposite is true. Everyone condemns Sea World, but most people are fine with zoos.
1
No, we should round up all of the Orcas. They know too much. Once we've caught them all, we can think about what to do with them.
1
@jacobp249 Orcas fuck over pretty much anything in the Ocean. In absolutely horrible ways. They just don't attack humans in particular. Probably because they know too much. Only locked up Orcas attack humans, probably because they're already in jail. And as we see, it had no consequences for Tilikum. Imo he knew exactly what he was doing.
1
@shroomyk People are keeping zebras as pets just fine. And wolves as well.
1
@goku-san >Zebras are very aggressive and this is why they haven't been domesticated I think that's some BS Jared Diamond has come up with. Where's the evidence that zebras are any more aggressive than wild horses. Or bulls. Or wolves. Or really anything domesticated by humans. >They're that way because they're the prey of many large predators. So were wild horses. In modernity people have started keeping zebras as pets and riding them. Works just fine.
1
What's surprising is that he only killed three and with so much time in between. He didn't face any consequences from what we're told, so why did he hold back? Maybe he knew that killing too many people would be suspicious. Those guys are way too smart, we should be careful.
