  5. Orions Angel Well that's just you being stupid then. The protagonists are as clear as in any other blockbuster. Or do you mean that Anakin's turn to the dark side should have been even more abrupt than it already was?

  7. +ranger1000 I don't know about the TV series, but A Song of Fire and Ice was not a drama, but a work of literary naturalism, which makes it harsh and dreary at times.

  8. +Yagami Light They weren't much worse than the originals at all. It's just that people saw the old ones as children, completely uncritical, and then build up expectations for Episode I. They are ok with Ewoks bringing down the Empire, but not with Jar Jar accidentally killing a few battle droids. And the new fans parrot what the olds say. Most of the weaknesses of the prequels are weaknesses of the originals as well.

  9. +Orions Angel Err... the dialogues in the originals weren't any better than in the prequels. Also in the prequels people at least tried to look somewhat concerned if something bad happened. And as for the gliders - yes there are lots of them on Coruscant. Star Wars is more than just Tatooine.

  10. Orions Angel "The characters were likable" Qui Gon, Obi Wan, etc not? How is Jar Jar less likeable than C3PO or the Ewoks? "The prequels had wooden acting, boring characters" Wooden acting and boring characters is almost part of the Star Wars brand. The new one has far superior acting to both the originals and the prequels. However in the prequels they at least tried to show emotion. Luke's reaction to his family's death was basically absent and so was Leia's to the destruction of Alderaan.
