@enraged_squishy Everyone seems to simply assume that "emotions" are "processed". But the only study I've ever seen on the topic showed the opposite: people, who were instructed to "let out" angry emotions by hitting punching bag stayed angry for longer than those who were instructed to sit in silence. An emotion per se is just images or language together with a feeling in the body. So naively I don't see how they could or should be "processed".

@k-chan4842 That "emotions" are some sort of substance, some object that can be "suppressed", "faced" or "processed" is a fiction, no more scientific than Jungian or Freudian psychology. At the bottom emotions are momentary appearances in consciousness. They cannot be suppressed and they don't signify anything.

That's possible. But I think it's also that being a woman is an exclusive club with perks. Being a dude isn't. You don't get access to anything for being a dude. I could move in with the homeless people under the bridge and no one would complain. But if the homeless guy showed up in my garden, I would.

@beraudmusic I've never been told by anyone that I should be a leader. The reason anyone cares about height is bcs it's attractive to women. That's not necessarily a cultural thing, but might be a universal preference. And if that preference didn't exist, there would be another. There will always be some arbitrary preferences if you reproduce sexually.
