  1.  @littlefishbigmountain  The story is supposed to explain the diversity of languages, hence the idea is that God created distinct languages in an instance as a sort of psychic weapon against mankind.

  2. Yeah several unrelated languages radiating out of Mesopotamia. In fact all peoples should then have come from there.
