  4. Imo originally it was about fighting, but now it's subject of runaway sexual selection. Women are selected for their ability to choose those men attractive to other women.

  6. Women are literally selected to have similar preferences. In particular in an environment with few other selective pressures. When there famines and leopards, you can be small to survive the famines or large to fight the leopards. But if sexual selection is the only selection, your genes' survival is only a matter of whether you choose a man, whose sons will be attractive to future women.
