  1. According to the bible you should kill your children for "disobeying" you. And you should kill strangers not out of necessity, but in order to take your stuff. Yes, killing many people of an enemy army does make you a hero in the ethical sense, because you're preventing all of the atrocities, you're fighting to prevent in the first place. You should let your judgment be guided less by cliches and more by compassion.
