  13. I'm a bit sceptical about this. The children, who grew up without a father, also had the genetics of a person, who left their family and were brought up by a person, who choose that person. So genetically and environmentally there is already alternative explanations to fathers being important. One would have to conduct studies by artificially adding / subtracting fathers.
