Working hard doesn't mean not taking breaks.

Being alone is better than being abused.

To change others you first have to change yourself. Even Michael Jackson noticed that.

What a cruel thing to say. When you don't have friends you don't deserve any and shouldn't even try?
1
@evelynalabaster And quality friendships are a gift from God and you are not allowed to attempt to be a better friend?

@splabbity "Making" sounds like much more agency to me than "winning". In any case reality is not a Cinderella story. Not everyone stumbles into a circle of friends on accident. They have to make themselves more sociable and seek out people with common interesists / compatible personalities.

@boitahaki Who is "they"? All Asians like rice... except the ones, who don't.

@user-dx6hk2op7w You have to change yourself to achieve goals and achieving a goal changes you. Furthermore you change all of the time whether you want to or not.

Groceries profit off of people's hunger.

At least you got a lifetime supply of herbs now.

@peterponcedeleon3368 No, that's not how that works. The boss receives a salary and the company may set that in different ways. The company can't really know what marginal profit it gets from you. And in any case it wouldn't spend it on your boss's salary, bcs then it wouldn't profit.

That's bcs you're not employed, you're buying products from them, lol.

Dale Carnegie's book is basically just saying "just be nice, bro". Most of the people in the comments condemn "self help gurus" while giving precisely the same advice as self help gurus.

And no one uses houses anymore.

You are contradicting yourself. If there is no "universal purpose" you cannot "find" it. I haven't read Sartre, but I'm pretty sure he wouldn't make such a silly mistake. A purpose is a relationship between a tool and its user or maker. You have a purpose only in relation to someone, who is using you to some end.
1
@taaaaaaaazzzzzz No. You don't understand. Creating and finding are to entirely different things. When you "find" a purpose, it must have already existed. Moreover if you understand the word purpose correctly, it doesn't make sense to "have" one. You can be useful to others, but you can't just be useful _.
