The reason the USA and their allies left is they're democracies relying on public opinion. And the public didn't care about Afghanistan anymore. They took Kabul instantly when they invaded. It wasn't even close. The international coalition also completely whooped Sadam's ass despite him having a huge army. Now Ukraine is successfully defending itself in a situation where nearly everyone expected a swift Russian victory. In other words, you're getting completely dunked on and you're coping.
