99% of the population voted for Stalin, you fool. He's a perfect democrat. Ridiculously one sided votes show really good democracy, like everyone knows. Especially if no supervision is allowed and the voter's country is occupied by a foreign power.

Ukrainians wanted to move closer to the West. Then Russia invades their country. There is no equivalency here. Russia is inferior to the West and lost popularity in the Ukraine because of this inferiority and invaded it because of it's aggressive authoritarian leadership. The Ukrainians are victims of Russian imperialism. The only thing that the West could possibly be blamed for is not supporting the Ukraine enough - or other victims of Russian aggression.

At this point Russia probably spends more on propaganda than all other countries combined. News channels, blogs, payed trolls: a constant unending stream of lies. Since recently the lies have been rather realistic, meant to be believed. But looking at the comments, they are switching to Orwellian lies, which are nothing but an assertion of power.
2
Yeah 99.999% of Crimeans voted for Papa Putin after their peninsula got occupied by Russian forces and international supervision was prevented.
2
Ukrainians want closer ties to the West -> puppet regime. Russia invades the Ukraine -> say anything bad and it's "Western propaganda". What you should be asking yourself is: "Why do we need to send troops? Why do we need to force the Ukrainians to come to us? What makes the West so much more attractive?"
2
How about Crimea belongs to the people living there? But I guess that's just inconceivable for an authoritarian like you. It has to belong to Papa Putin...
1
@jalusbrian Yeah voting with a gun against your head. Why didn't the Cimeans vote to rejoin Russia before they were occupied?
1
Well Trump has taken a page out of Putin's book with his lies. In a way he is worse, because he doesn't even attempt to be consistent.

Russia is not a superpower at all. They are just super-aggressive and have atomic bombs. Economically Russia is a dwarf. China is a super power and the USA. Next comes India. Russia doesn't compare to any of these.
1
@Abanamat85 Perhaps Russia should stop engaging paid trolls then. How are we supposed to know, who parrots Russian propaganda out of ignorance and who does so for a paycheck? Russia might not be an economical superpower anymore, but in terms of propaganda they easily beat all other countries combined.
1
@Speznas94 Wow, you are fucking dumb mate.
1
How pathetic can you get? The West is not "encroaching" Russia, but people want closer ties with the West, because they like liberty and economic growth. It's that easy. That's why Russia has to invade the Ukraine and make up stories about Western conspiracies. It's also funny how you can complain about Ukrainian Neo-Nazis, while ignoring that Lybia and Syria were actual dictatorships. There weren't single dictators strewn around, no. The countries were completely under the control of cruel dictators. The latter still be propped up by Russia, still tormenting his own people with the help of Putin. Oh and if Europe is so utterly dependent on Russian gas - why did they impose sanctions on Russia? How does that fit with your pathetic power fantasies? Russia is no superpower. It's an economic dwarf compared to the superpowers. The only thing it is super at is aggression and propaganda. They probably spend more on propaganda than all other countries combined.
1
Ukrainians wanted closer ties to the West, since it's more attractive than Russia. That's when Russia invaded Crimea. The West being more attractive to Ukrainians is not the fault of the USA nor something that has to be amended. The freedom and safety of the Ukrainian people are more important than Putin's thrist for power.
1
Nonsense. Ukrainians want closer ties to the West, because they like individual liberty and economic opportunities. That's why Russia has to send troops to keep the Ukraine close, while the West just has to exist.
1
When Russia invades a country it's clearly the fault of the journalists for not being supportive enough.
1
- Complains about propaganda. - Repeats Russian state propaganda 1:1.
1
Iraq was an atrocious dictatorship. Everyone admitted that at the time. Everyone was horrified at cruelties committed by Sadam Hussein. Now we are supposed to forget about that in order to believe that the USA is somehow just as bad as Russia? Total nonsense. Russia is an autocracy with imperialist tendencies. They invaded the Ukraine, because Ukrainians wanted to have closer ties to the West. What you should be asking yourself is why Russia's neighbors have to be forced to keep close to it. Why is the West so much more attractive?
1
Do you actually believe the Russian propaganda you parrot or are you just some kind of relay?
1
>Russian invasion - everybody happy, children smile and take photos, people say thank you. You are not even trying to be realistic anymore. Putin could tell you that you are a duck and you'd start quacking. Pathetic.
1
Russian propaganda. You don't get to see disconcerted Ukrainians when the Russian military is nearby.
1
@olgaluna6447 Firstly, learn what "false flag" means. Secondly, learn some actualy history before you parrot propaganda. In all of those scenarios the USA was called to fight against tyranny and later blamed for it.
1
Because Russian is an autocratic shithole. Ukraine doesn't want to join it for the same reason that West Germans didn't storm the wall.
1
Do you actually believe your own bullshit? Because you are not even trying to stay realistic anymore.
1
I think you miswrote Russia.
1
Why not just say that you don't like the pro-Jewish tone from Vice?
1
Then how come they have to invade the Ukraine to force it away from the West?
1
99,999% voted for Papa Putin and it had nothing to do with the Russian occupation. And Russia orchestrating the referendum. And Russia not admitting supervision. The only question is: Do you just repeat lies or actually believe in them?
1
Must have needed a monstrous effort of doublethink to believe that.
1
Are you a chatbot? They took the peninsula without fighting because of superior numbers. That needed exactly zero skill.
1
Yeah all news is "biased" except the Russian state television...
1
Do you actually believe this? Or do you just repeat it for Papa Putin?
