People confuse everyday objects all the time, not to speak of animals at night.

There was probably just two owls if any and they only saw them a couple of times. It doesn't need to explain all details. Some people are very suggestable. And ppl confuse everyday objects all the time, not to speak animals at night.

Yeah, alcohol makes you see less, not more. I wouldn't be surprised if you hallucinated less on alcohol than sober.
3
@KJ-tz7vc So dull loons are less likely than extraterrestrial boogiemen?
3
You sound like exactly the kind of person, who'd get spooked by owls, because of totally misplaced confidence in momentary impressions and zero introspection or education on perception.
3
@paulyoung3504 The owl thing is not supposed to explain every detail of their report. Just the general shape of what they think they saw. When you think you're shoot "point blank" at something that's actually much farther away, you may miss. For example. Must not be that they ever shot at owls at all.

@quetzalpacheco Thing is that the sentinelese cannot look past their island, but we can. We can see the absence of civilization in the milky way and other galaxies. Those aliens would have to do nothing besides scaring some country folk. Literally a super advanced civilization that does nothing. Also what we're doing to the sentinelese is deeply unethical and I hope people will recognize that long before traveling to other stars.
2
Sure, but that would mean the rest of the civilization is hiding perfectly, apparently doing nothing.
1
@ROUGHSEES You have no idea about anything, because you're intellectually lazy.
1
That's just absolute nonsense. You travel between stars, but you need to repair a spacecraft in some forest on earth. And what's their agenda? They aren't interested in the sun or any other star in the galaxy or any resources or objects of study, they just harass some hillbillies, that's literally all their super advanced civilization is up to...
1
An advanced civilization could easily communicate if they wanted to. Running naked towards some ppl in the night is not communication and clearly not sth indicative of the ability to build interstellar spacecraft.
1
Platypuses didn't have a globe spanning civilization.
1
@pauline3775 If your way of "communicating" is getting naked and running at ppl in the middle of the night, then you're definitely not able to build interstellar spacecraft.
1
People confuse ordinary things in their environment for other stuff all the time. Knowing what an owl is doesn't mean you can never confuse it for sth else.
1
Infinitely more likely than extraterrestrials.
1
No.
1
Lol, the shit takes people on youtube have never disappoint. In your mind hunters never mistake any animals in the dark, no matter what animal.
1
It's funny how many of you idiots in the comments are completely uneducated on human perception. You're exactly the kind of person, who'd get spooked by an owl, because you are overconfident in momentary impressions.
1
There's no evidence in the first place, so we don't have to give an account anyways. Couple of ppl being confused is infinitely more likely than interstellar civilization solely occupied with scaring hillbillies.
1
You have no clue about meth.
1
You couldn't recognize a "thinking error" if it shat in your mouth. Your interstellar civilization is completely disinterested in all of the stars and black holes and resources of the galaxy, completely disinterested in science or culture or the pursuit of hapoiness. Literally all they use their technology for is to spook country folk. It simply doesn't make sense. It's just a less plausible way of asserting mythical creatures. It's faeries, but with extra ballast. It's like explaining zebras by asserting a god that creates zebras.
1
@ericbrown2336 They didn't necessarily shoot at or hit at any owls even if owls played a part in the story. I don't really see A UFO phenomenon, I see plenty of very different stuff lumped together. But granting any weird shit happening, extraterrestrials remain one of the least plausible explanations, because all of the shit we should expect to see if any civilization can reach us.
1
No one did that.
1
@dr.bignuts3119 People communicate successfully with rodents all the time. And they don't travel through thousands of cities just to meet some groupbof rodents and then just spook the rodents a bit and leave.
1
A rational mind that actually grasps the enormous stupidity of the claim.
1
1) You have no clue what Occam's Razor is. 2) Your aliens are totally disinterested in all of the stars the galaxy, totally disinterested in all resources, totally disinterested in science. Their entire interstellar civilization exists only to spook country folk.
1
You're simply stupid. Your aliens are perfectly hidden, they do absolutely nothing in terms of astro engineering, all they do is scare hillbillies.
1
No, it doesn't either. And the problem isn't what they're doing, but what they are not doing. They are totally disinterested in all of the stars and planets and resources in the galaxy, completely disinterested in science and culture. Literally all their interstellar civilization does is spook country folk.
1
@jaykirizz219 It's much more likely than them seeing some animal unknown to science.
1
Nope. Ppl confuse stuff all the time and if you think you're perfect, you probably confuse a lot of stuff.
1
They came all that way just to spook some hillbillies. Interstellar civilization that does absolutely nothing besides harassing country folk. Do you see that in our future as well?
1
100% the fault of the advanced civilization failing to communicate at all.
1
Yeah, we all know that country people never get things mixed up or get paranoid.
1
An interstellar civilization could just sterilize the planet if it wanted to or it could make you love them. Or really anything else, the difference in skill should be expected to be impossible to overcome. It's not just the technology it requires to build interstellar craft, but also all the time technology can be developed while on the way.
1
@AtSafeDistance No. That is not likely in the least. Even if they spread naturally into all of space. But them coming ONLY here with one craft makes it even less plausible since they clearly have perfect confidence in the self repair mechanism of their spacecraft.
1
@reswobiandreaming3644 Well, you're stupid as fuck. What you think you would do is no model how an entity or society capable of interstellar travel should behave.
1
You seriously suck at thinking. People being spooked by owls is less plausible to you than a hidden interstellar civilization that does absolutely nothing but to spook country folk once... I don't have words for such irrationality. We see millions of galaxies without signs of civilization. Whatever shows up at your barn is from earth.
1
I hope you're ten years old or sth. Worse mix ups happen all of the time. People are suggestable and get paranoid far more often than they invent elaborate lies.
