  1. She did render aid. She called an ambulance. I don't see what kind of first aid you can do towards a gunshot wound on a person, who just attacked you.

  3. Of course there is excessive force in self defense. When you're attacked by a ten year old with a pool noodle, you can hold him hard or shove him a bit, but you can't lift him over your head, smash him to the ground and stomp on his head.

  5. No first aid rendered? How do you render first aid to a guy who attacked you? To a gunshot wound? How does that work?

  7. A medal of honor is awarded for exceptional bravery when defending others, not for self defense after an attack that came out of the blue.
