It's the number one food of all cells, which of course includes cancer cells.

@GlennsFastReviews >the brain reacts to the taste of sweetness and signals the pancreas to start producing insulin Yeah in mice. >This excess can lead to hypoglycemia. Even if it raised insulin a little bit that would be unlikely to lead to hypoglycemia.

I hope you're running around in a hazmat suit wherever you go.

@onlyrealtalentedartists Because he actually believes what he says he believes. And if he doesn't, he's trying to persuade himself.

Your goal is to live off of non-chemical substances like dark matter and neutrinos?
1
I've never seen any evidence for this hyper focus on vitamins/minerals. And if you're worried about those, just eat a multivitamin pill a day.
1
You also don't need shoes or clothes. And it's not just marathon runners, it's pretty much anything that you can perform better or worse at, be it lifts in the gym, chess games or studying. So "in reality" almost everyone should eat "starches and disaccharides", because pretty much everyone in modern society cares about their performance at something.

@ZacksRockingLifestyle >Any reason why cutting out carbs from all sources has allowed me to lose 100lbs in less than a year? How did you lose tissue if you have more energy? Sounds you had LESS energy and now you're feeling better, because you're not fat anymore. That's a hundred times more plausible than not eating sugar somehow giving you energy. Moreover "feeling" energy doesn't really mean anything. I often got a PR on a day on which I didn't feel good or missed several lifts on days on which I felt good. You need to actually measure performance with or without sugar intake and compare.

@yoo571 What the nutritionist didn't say is that that happened in mice and was never observed in humans.

@moriganna67ify Jesus Christ, Nurses really don't know shit about anything.

@lindajohnson2149 >aspartame is a known neurotoxic chemical Aspartame is probably the substance for which we have the best evidence that it is completely harmless.
1
Cancer cells obviously live off of the same nutrition as other cells. If you stop eating, your cancer dies, just like all of your other cells.

So either 1) The bacteria somehow know where the sugars are coming from. or 2) This entire story is bullshit.
1
@AnkurWow >and keeps blood sugar levels more balanced Then what's the point of eating sugar? The point of eating simple sugars is to spike it in the blood. Your liver itself produces sugar, so you technically don't have to eat any.
1
Yeah, how thick can I get my neck before I die in my sleep?
1
I have never seen a bodybuilder binge on avocados. I don't think there's any benfits to consuming more fats if you hit a certain low level.
1
@midi510 Where are the people sitting under bridges spooning bags of sugar? Pure sugar is super cheap. Why does no one just eat sugar directly?
1
That means non-"refined" sugar is worse. You eat your 2kg of oranges, do the exercise/mental task, whatever, but you don't have access to the sugar yet, which impedes your performance, then later the sugar is finally metabolized and you get fat since it's not needed anymore. "Refined" sugars don't make you fat, since they're immediately available to help you win a game of chess.
1
@ZacksRockingLifestyle With "some", you mean essentially everyone, who actually needs to perform.
1
Cardio is killing your gains.
1
But you're not extending healthy life. You're trading a painless, quick death like cardiac arrest for horrible, prolonged suffering like cancer or alzheimers.
1
@Crochedandconspiracies If they're "addicted", they wouldn't be on a "standard diet". They'd spoon sugar out a bag. Your dumbass claims don't stand up to any scrutiny.
1
So you're sitting around spooning from a bag of sugar?
