  1. Firstly, not crying doesn't mean you're "ashamed of your emotions". Secondly, being extremely neurotic doesn't make you "strong", it actually makes you weak in the intended metaphorical sense.

  2.  @smileyd5008  So what does sadness have to do with crying? It's simply not true that for a majority of people (or at least men) being sad is associated with crying. It's an extremely arrogant and ignorant thing to accuse them of "suppressing" anything.

  7.  @data4385  If you consciously choose to cry, you're not crying out of pain, you're just an actor. Furthermore "suppressing" an emotion is just basic rationality. It's what keeps you from being a child, which throws a tantrum whenever things aren't perfect.
