  1. The reason why priests can't get married is because kings didn't want the clergy to found dynasties in the Middle Ages. So they could always give the territories to bishops and abbots they liked. The dogmatic explanation is obviously pretextual.

  2. Pff people aren't completely rational. It's not that you take away religion and everyone is completely free from superstition and dogma. Most people are just brought back to pre nature religion superstitions by this.
