  1. We are at a point where everyone could live in comfort while only working for an hour a day, yet there is still poor people, who have to work their ass off in order to make a living. Fox News and all right wingers are the dimwitted servants of the rich.

  3. Matthew Gavin Yes we could. I'm not for it though, because I have aspirations. In a conspiracy of all people to use our machines only to care for our basic needs, we would have to work very little indeed. But we wouldn't progress forward.

  4. Matthew Gavin Think about what we use our resources for. And then imagine how much resources a little hat and sufficient food would need. We have huge plantations, we cultivate with our machines. One day of mild work on such a plantation and you have generated easily enough food for weeks. The same goes for material that goes into the hat. The only reason we can feed as many people as there are alive today anyways is our advanced machinery and agricultural knowledge. Without them, only 10% of us could survive.
