I know that there is no god with the same certainty that I know there is no half eaten cake inbetween the galaxy clusters. Agnosticism is such a stupid thing to even bring up. Noone stresses his agnosticism on leprechauns or dragons, it's only the Abrahamic god, which gets this special treatment.

***** Well good luck with that. Also I don't see how making a mythical creature even more implausible gives it special credit. XD

+Michael P Everyone, who is not a theist (believes in gods) is an atheist (doesn't believe in gods).

Sec 420 "to deny that it is even possible is just illogical" Yes. And it's possible that there are leprechauns. Yet noone calls himself agnostic on leprechauns. It's just something that never comes up. I'm not denying that I'm TECHNICALLY agnostic, I just find it ridiculous as a label.

infinit888 "that all conceivable god concepts are false is a faith based position as well." Well if you think skepticism and empiricism are faith based positions, then yes. I reject claims for which there are no reasons to believe them. I might have been created five seconds ago, with all of the world and all of my memories intact, but I don't see why I should give this notion any credit. "you are actually making a positive assertion about the universe and are hence shouldering yourself with the burden of proof" I'm shouldering the heavy burden of having to proof that god and the half eaten cake don't exist. Poor me.

Weiquan Mai That would be a reason to point at the lack of evidence for leprechauns, not ponder on how you cannot show with certainty that there are none.
1
Weiquan Mai That is happening all of the time. People are becoming increasingly educated, increasingly skeptic and less and less superstitious and religious. I myself fell away from belief after being exposed to discussion and arguments on the internet.

Balsac Teabaghar You are certainly one. As certain as any empirical knowledge can be.

infinit888 "But you're neither skeptical nor empirical if you claim to know all god concepts are false" The skeptical position is to REJECT a claim if there is no evidence for it or good reason to believe in it. Also I never said I claimed it was false. Here you have failed to read properly and here you (and the others who responded) reveal their bias towards god: "I know that there is no god with the same certainty that I know there is no half eaten cake inbetween the galaxy clusters." Interestingly noone seems to even address the second part of the sentence. Noone is outraged that I apparently claim that there is no cake inbetween galaxy clusters. Well I can relieve your mind. I'm not positively claiming that there is no cake in between some galaxy clusters in the unimaginable void. ...or a god for that matter.

Cadet Fowler "The reason people are debating God and not the cake is because..." I'm not proposing that we should talk about intergalactic cakes just as much as about gods; I'm proposing that we should be comfortable with saying: "God does NOT exist." Just as we are comfortable with saying the same about other ludicrous or even unfalsifiable things.

+Sophal27 I doubt you are even close to possessing the mathematical knowledge to understand the various cosmological models for our universe. And what on earth is an "absolute atheist"? Atheists are always absolute atheists. When you believe in only one god, you're still not an atheist.
