Religion convinces people that they have an invisible disease and then presents the cure: gullibility and unquestioning obedience.

Exorcisms are not "Western culture". And Christianity was an Eastern cult.

MK ULTRA SOLDIER II Where do you get that from? People usually feel relieved when they have freed themselves from belief in their religious dogma. The least religious societies are usually the happiest.

MK ULTRA SOLDIER II >>If it wasnt for christianity, my friend would still be in a gang selling drugs<< How can you be so sure about that? There is not a single gang of Atheists in the world. The Mafia requires their members to be Christians and most gang members take their religion quite seriously. >>My church has a food bank that gives food to the poor and pays for peoples rent when they can not<< Charity existed before and after our world religions. However when you try to make actual change, to enact social politics, then your biggest enemy are the churches and the believers. When you want to help people out of poverty, your enemies are the believers. When you want people to earn enough for their work, your enemies are the believers. >>India was a religious society that lived in harmony<< I guess with harmony you mean a merciless class based society, in which the poorest were blamed for the poverty, they were born into.

MK ULTRA SOLDIER II >>Not all gangs are formed by religions<< That's not what I am saying. What I am saying is that gang members are usually more religious than the society as a whole. And criminal gangs usually frown on unbelievers. >>I was trying to say that religion has done some good in the world<< There were certainly single good actions motivated by religion - that doesn't mean religion produced a net plus here. >>that's class-ism, that will exist with or without religion<< No. In Hindu mythology you were born poor, because you had bad karma in the last life. That is why they literally blamed them for being poor. You won't find that in secular societies.

@MK ULTRA SOLDIER II What is your point? Sticks and ropes cause more suffering than nuclear weapons ever have. You don't need advanced weaponry to inflict the greatest pain on others, but you need it to defend. Science has improved every single aspect of our life. It works. Revelation doesn't.

Perhaps "religion haters" are not easily blinded by charisma.

@theamazingchannel470 You summed up your own creation myth, you moron.

I've never denied that there's a lot of superstitious buffoons in South America and Asia.

The irony couldn't be any greater. YOU are the arrogant one. Not the people following scientific evidence. YOU are asserting things without evidence. YOU think you know everything while refusing to look.
