Not sure about moons, but I think we must have been way more lucky than it appears. Else I'd expect to see some evidence of interstellar civilizations in the night sky.

If life is so common why are civilizations so rare? I find it more plausible to suppose that life is super rare and that's why there is no evidence of interstellar civilizations.

@clamchowder7609 No. We already have very different organism taking the same forms. Three toed and two toed sloths even evolved independently. They look like almost the same animal. Dolphins look like ichtyosaurs, who look like fish. Bats look like pterosaurs, etc.

@clamchowder7609 We are not alike at all. Living things are about as dissimilar as they could be. The physics wouldn't be different.

@clamchowder7609 If the physics are different you should expect no life at all. Not just postulate life that somehow looks radically different. The reason why we expect life elsewhere is because there is life here. So for the very same reason that we expect life at all, we should also expect aliens that look similar to many of the animals on our planet.

Most of DNA doesn't code for anything. There is thousands and thousands of things about DNA that point at evolution and discredit the idea of a creator. You simply don't know anything about genetics and biochemistry and you use your ignorance to cling on to ancient foolishness.

To suggest that octopuses are aliens is just straight retarded and Cox could have made this much clearer. It's like a woman giving birth to twins and you proclaim that one is from space. It just doesn't make sense.
