@ShinyVeggie Pretty sure that the video is about numeracy. Ie stuff like an intuitive understanding of the proximity of numbers, stuff like comparing fractions, etc Not "maths", the ignorance of which is considered normal. Like integral calculus or modular arithmetics. And dyslexia might be as benign as the inability to spell correctly.

There isn't really a problem. Most people don't need the maths they don't know.

Counting is super difficult. You have to find a bijection between objects and a subset of the natural numbers.

@vblaas246 I remember hearing something like that, but I'd be very careful with such claims. Might be an exaggeration / misunderstanding. I don't think it is possible to never care about whether there is four or a hundred of something.

@wrenross5315 That's entirely artificial though. If linguists were required to play the violin, not being a violinist would be more disadvantageous. I thought we were talking about every day situations. And about the maths people talk about when they say "I never liked maths", not about dyscalculia.
