  1. Whether they are squares is up to ones liking, but they are definitely 2D. Noneuclidean geometry is different from multidimensional geometry.

  2. They are straight lines, but straight on a noneuclidean surface. The dimension you perceive them as curved in, doesn't exist for the actual 2D shape.

  3. They are not three dimensional. They are two dimensional, just not on the euclidean plane.

  4. Squares don't exist on curved surfaces, since they are foursided with each side being of the same length and all inner angles being 90 degrees. Which of those conditions you relax to call a shape on a curved surface a square is rather arbitrary.
