I have never seen two men having beef, but in the friend group that's mostly women, there's constantly at least two feuding - so I reject the entire fable of women being better at friendships. That said, studying at someone's place of buying a pizza for project partners once is of course innocuous.

But something similar is the case: the protagonist defeats the villain or solves the problem the plot revolves around and somehow they end up with their love interest. They don't have to chase after her and they don't get rejected. The narrative is that if you slay the dragon, you get the woman automatically, while irl you can slay dragons all the time and stay alone.
