  2. The alpha of the group tries to draw the attention to himself. He actually did that quite well. Also their tactical positioning is good in general. The lower ranking males directly behind the alpha and behind them the females. Also bluffing about playing football was a good move imo.

  3. No, it wasn't. They were afraid to fight them. There was at least 5 of them, 3 of them dudes and the guy in the front looked pretty swole. Also they likely believed that he played football. Besides almost no one actually fights in this sort of situation anyways.
