Liu Cixin has a series of fiction books. He didn't make a formal argument. It's highly dubitable whether a "Dark Forest" scenario is realistic.

@andrewhsu7538 I stopped halfway through the second book, because the aliens got pretty dumb and the story lingered very long on some sub-plot about an imaginary woman. Maybe I should pick it back up some time. Maybe what's stupid about the aliens is just a red herring.

@adamzen1620 Not sure what that's supposed to mean. They tried to keep humanity from funding more science by confusing them. But that's not really "using the laws of physics as weapons".

@andrewhsu7538 You do realize that people actually write scientific articles and textbooks about this kind of stuff? If you're just interested in speculation about extraterrestrial civilizations, you don't have to read specific sci fi books.

I don't think the relativistic kill missile requires anti-matter engines necessarily. If you want to learn more about this, Isaac Arthur's channel is a good place to start.
