Not being born to a bunch violent, incompetent thugs should be a human right. Why do you think it's ok to imprison someone forever but not to sterilize them?

@virginblythe That story has 0 to do with eugenics.

@claudiag.9307 Yes of course it is. Just like you can overcome the tendency to enslave other people, you can overcome the attitude of owning your offspring. We are already doing that in fact.

They should have instead bred the promiscuous ones more. Imagine a world in which women are bred for horniness and long tongues.

The way you decide anything else in democracy. Besides the main problem isn't antisocial people, it's preventable diseases.
1
@alexforce9 Yeah, anti-eugenics people like to ignore that. Selection already happens, just not with a bias towards the well being of the following generations. We have contraceptives. Selective breeding of humans doesn't interfere with people's freedoms more than taxes or other laws.

It's super well known and overblown. The people in the "zoos" were there voluntarily and they quickly stopped the exhibitions when they noticed how cringe they were.

It's ok to imprison someone for life, but not to sterilize them? Lol. Blind tribalism.
1
You don't need to understand evolution by natural selection to do common sense eugenics. People bred animals without knowing that all diversity stems from evolution.
1
No, it's sad to see how many people blindly reject eugenics by completely turning off their compassion.

@cv4809 So in your opinion there's only eugenics and random choice of partners? Letting the next best handsome guy knock you up is just genics without the "eu". Eugenics is about the intention of making life better for the coming generations.
1
Unfortunately not. Stopping eugenics is probably the worst thing humanity ever did. Hopefully we can come to our senses soon

Negative IQ take. People have been breeding plants since forever and they had no idea about DNA.
1
It's shocking how you think "eugenics bad" without having any reason, only because on associations.

Imagine not wanting people to suffer from preventable diseases. How horrible. Good thing we got over this and now don't care about people suffering preventable diseases anymore.

If there's fewer "lower class" people, that hurts the upper class and benefits the lower class.
