  7. That's completely meaningless. Imagine there's a bug in a programm and the computer scientist says "the program is the problem". Well trivially yes, but that doesn't help. At what line in the code is there a mistake? What inputs lead to the error? You cannot throw yourself out and get a new you, so you better find out what's wrong with more precision.

DeMaistre doesn't even know what he's saying himself, he just doesn't like social progress, foreigners and in general people having compassion for others outside of their closest family. Instead of caring about human well being, he wants us to preserve vaguely defined patterns of tradition or psychology, that are amoral at best and more often actively harmful. He believes in magic, he thinks humans have some "essence" they are tethered to and that it is anti-thetical to any attempt to improve the lives of people and fundamentally make society better. The entirety of human history contradicts him.
