The veneration of bones is supported by the bible. for example 2 kings 13 : 20-21 a man is revived by touching the bones of Elisha. Creating beautiful things to worship God is a good thing. King Solomon and King David built great temples to glorify God and were not punished for it.

I'm sorry, but IVF is murder unless you gestate all the young humans you create rather than throwing them in the rubbish and killing them. Failing to produce as many humans as possible is not the same as killing humans. This episode is like the meme of the man animatedly trying to explain some tenuous or self-contradictory claim on a blackboard at 4x speed.

They also seem to think that a group using government power to uphold their culture is bad but a jewish or mormon community or settlement having it's leadership hierarchy make sanctions to uphold their culture is ok. There's no qualitative difference between a government and a mormon settlement leadership hierarchy. the only difference is scale.

@wyatt13131 but ultimately ithey're both just a culture using hierarchy and force to protect and sustain itself so why would one be a bad idea and not another? Malcolm says that "the government intervening and using force to protect the culture artificially allows weak cultures to survive and we want weak cultures to fail" But then he simultaenously praises the amish for having such a robust culture when all amish settlements are run by a government aka a hierarchy or leadership structure which makes sure the culture continues by not giving permission to non-amish to build on their settlement. he contradicts himself.
