  1. 20:00 prostitution is not considered upper class. The effective altruist cult is one small upper class group, if they can even be considered that. Even among Effective Altruists, they don't consider prostitution in itself high status. It's not like after finding out that someone is a prostitute most effective altruists think "wow she's smart" or "that's impressive" like they do if they hear "Thiel fellowship" or "deepmind" . They like Aella because she does these trivial displays of "rationalism" but I don't think being a prostitute is in itself a positive for them. proof that prostitution is not considered upper class in general is that basically none of them would want their sons or daughters to do it and basically all of them would be offended if you offered it to them as a work opportunity, As Louise Perry says, sexual disenchantment hasn't actually happened . Despite public proclamations, people deep down still consider sex to be something very meaningful and intimate and different from just making a cup of coffee. This is proven by how upper class groups regularly launch into extreme offence and mass cancelling campaigns when employers treat so-called "sex work" as though it really is just the same as any other kind of work and ask their employees if they'd do it e.g. me too . If "sex work" really were just another kind of work then a boss asking an employee if they would blow a client would be not qualitatively different from a boss asking an employee to make a coffee.
