  8. I’m not up on US politics but, optics aside, are there any tangible differences between Harris and Trump on a policy level? In the most recent UK election, there wasn’t any tangible difference between the Conservatives and Labour, despite broad historical differences, so it was safe to vote for a third option socialist party like the Greens, without having to worry about negative blowback. All that to say, does Jill Stein really pose a threat to the Democrats, or is it all perception? And does it really matter if both main parties are committed to genocide, neoliberal fiscal policy, and widespread racist policy, despite performative identity politics?

  14. It’s hard to retain the patience to give the benefit of the doubt on some of this info. I know it’s coming through an American lens, but Second Thought covers this so much better. Many commenters only take away is “something something religion” which couldn’t be further from the truth, and that really needs to be amplified. It’s an out and out land grab by a colonial apartheid ethno-state of secular zionists. They’re not religious people. Palestinians are a combo of Muslim and Christian, but it’s not about religion. It’s about Israel forcibly cleansing the ethnic Arab Palestinians from the area they’ve called home for centuries. All perpetrated by transplanted citizens of Eastern European descent, supported by Western countries who supported the founding of Israel as an antisemitic answer to what they perceived as a “Jewish problem!” They thought the way to avoid world war 3 was to move Jews to their own country! Ironically, their unconditional support of it might be the thing that causes it.

I don’t know how much the US actually tells you guys, but the US via NATO has been lining up military facilities as close to the Russian and Belarusian borders as possible. That doesn’t justify Russia’s actions, but there’s more to than a random land grab. They want the buffer they were promised - in Europe, we already know Ukraine won’t be admitted to NATO because it’ll make things worse. Ukraine needs to be Switzerland for politically stability in the region and movements westward don’t help relations.
