  1. Canada is far too linked to the USA. It has to detach, trading more with the rest of the world. A first step is phasing out the odd two voltage USA electrical system, adopting the superior single voltage British/EU system. The US system is still stuck in the 1940/50s. Then a wider range of imported, and more advanced, electrical equipment is available. Also, Canadian made electrical equipment has a greater market around the world.
