  3. Renowned historian A. J. P. Taylor said that WW2 was a continuation of WW1. His book, The Origins of the Second World War is a must read on his angle to the lead up to WW2. Taylor has Hitler as a power hungry anti-Semite opportunist with no real beliefs.  Taylor argued that Hitler did not have any plan with a drifting foreign policy. A gambler, he seized chances as they were offered.
