Far too many loaded questions. But Noam Chomsky got over what he wanted to get over.

Chris lightning There was only Forthlin Rd, and just off it, that was sort of working class. It was more upper working class - people on the cusp. Upwardly mobile we would say today.
2
Paul McCartney lived in Forthlin Rd off Mather Avenue, which was a clear middle class area. A golf course separated him from John Lennon. A golf course? Hardly working class is it? .
1
+Macca Lives Forthlin was not an estate. It was a road with one of two short bits off it.
1
+Macca Lives It doesn't matter who owned the house, the area in which Paul McCartney lived was very middle class. If they owned their house, or privately rented, in the next road you are saying he would be middle class. Which is rather odd. The fact is he lived in an obvious middle class area and went to one of the city's best schools. Very middle class. BTW, the council homes around there tended to have nurses (Paul's mother) and policemen living in them - responsible people in the public service sector.

***** Again.."It doesn't matter who owned the house, the area in which Paul McCartney lived was very middle class. If they owned their house or privately rented, in the next road you are saying he would be middle class."
1
***** Most people in Liverpool would have regarded McCartney as Middle Class.
1
***** In the 1950s anyone living of Mather Ave was NOT working class.
1
***** Again.... In the 1950s anyone living off Mather Ave was NOT working class.
1
Macca Lives Forthin Rd was not an estate. It was small road off Mather Ave Rd.
1
***** Forthin was/is a small road with some council owned and rented dwellings surrounded totally by middle class housing. Calling it an estate is madness.
1
Macca Lives You wrongly equate renting a home owned by the local council means you are not middle class. This where you are wrong.
1
***** You are confused. I know/knew many pretty well off people who rented from the council. You are equating renting from the council as being working class. It sounds like you read the Daily Mail, as that is the propaganda line they push.
1
***** "Renting from the council for a lifetime does not mean you are middle class." It does not mean you are working class either. John Lennon was similar to Paul, they lived either side of the golf course and both in middle class suburbs. One rented the other house was owned. You equate home ownership or who the landlord is to class. Boy you are confused.
1
***** Class is not your income. You have little idea of what you are writing. I can't believe this..... "Yes, he lived in a nice area but his upbringing was not typical of the people that lived in that area of Liverpool because he lived in a council owned house unlike most of the neighbourhood outside of Forthlin Road." Because the landlord was the council all the amenities around disappeared and his family acted like uncouth pigs? LOL So, all the nice suburbs turned into slums when the McCartney's looked at them!
1
Macca Lives A wandering mind. The focus is Forthin Rd. I am not achieving anything, just clearing up misconceptions.
1
Macca Lives Class is not your income.
1
***** You are very confused, and obsessed with being working class.
1
Macca Lives I prefer to go on fact.
1
Macca Lives Paul moved up to the middle class. That is obvious.
1
Macca Lives "You did a nice job at moving the goal posts") You do not even know where the posts are.
1
Macca Lives Ad hom attacks. Means you lost.
1
Macca Lives More ad hom attacks from an ill-educated man. Amazing.
1
***** Any old irony?
1
Macca Lives OK, ill-educated and female, or whatever.
1
Macca Lives A lot higher than yours.
