Trump does not have to leave the White House. He can mount a coup by just staying, as there is mechanism to remove a sitting president. A TED lecture (on-line):

There are more Red states than Blue, but Red states are low population. Each state can legally forward a president. If there is violence on the streets (Trump cares nothing about that), with organized large armed groups the Republican states may go along with him to avoid civil unrest, maybe even civil war. Then, knowing when the Democrats get back in they will have the laws changed. All in order to avoid civil war.
If the military get involved in evicting Trump, they are also getting involved in a coup. It is outside their remit. Trump is within the constitution by staying, and going the court route, then hijacking the presidency. Then if all Red states are for him he stays, as it goes by state, not total population.
