  1. These cars were rot boxes with sills, rear subframe and wings rotting away. The rubber sub frame mounts would rot with the frame dropping to one side. Awful cars to own. Great to drive, great design, spacious for its size, but awful engineering (complicated panel fitment) and build quality.

  2. The electric fuel pump on the Morris 1100 was on the rear subframe under the car. It had problems with constant leaks from braided plastic pipes. They may have moved the pump position or it was a sensible after market fix. I believe the Mini (the 1100 is a pumped up Mini) originally had an electric fuel pump (made by AC), however reverted to the more reliable mechanical pump on the engine block.
